Even if we make a Superbowl run and the only way Garrett stays if we offer him the head coaching job or he takes another offer ? Jerry would look like a Steinbrenner chlone, but losing Garrett seems like a real possibilty. I don't want to lose a guy this smart and young.

Why would you want to get rid of a 4-0 coach?

The Chargers got rid of their successful coach last year ..... how has that turned out for them.

Wade deserves as much credit as anyone on the coaching staff.

Jerry has a lot of options here. #1 I think he has already had this discussion with Jason. #2. He could offer him a lot more $$$ and promise him the HC position when Wade retires. (Think Washington Commanders) #3 he could be promoted to assitant Head Coach (see #2) etc....

I think it's more likely that we lose Tony Sparano at this point.

it's a free country...so garret could do whatever he wants...but why would he leave dallas? this organization has been very good to him for a very long time. Name me a better job in the NFL? Ok, now name me a better job in the nfl that will have a head coaching vacancy? Ok, now name me a better job in the NFL, with a head coaching vacancy, with a roster this young and loaded with this much cap space with this many draft picks? Wade will get 2 years and he will have to step aside. Even if he is winning. He is on the wrong side of 60 and the Cowboys are not going to let a young coach with the potential to have a Bill Cower/Mike Shanahan run leave the building.

Ummm this thread needs to be gotten rid of.... The logic doesn't make sense, Wade has a winning record as a head coach why mess it up. Jerry Jones won't let Jason Garrett get out of Dallas, he'll make him one of the highest paid coordinators to stay with the Cowboys!

I've got it! Wade fakes a heart condition and takes a "demotion" with a giant raise and becomes the Defencive cord under Jason as HC. :)

Why not make them co-head coaches? That way, after every inevitable WAS loss to DAL when the opposing coaches meet to shake hands, Jason and Wade could join hands and clothesline Joe Gibbs instead.

While I don't agree with getting rid of Wade if he wins the SB but I do agree that you can't let lose one of the most promising young coaches leave the team. Pay Garret a boat load of Money, i.e greg Williams, Al Saunders type. Beside Wade is 60+ I can see him staying here for 3 years especially if we win a SB in that time frame. That will give Garret the opportunity to be a HC for a team with talent as opposed to a team with a losing record and deficiencies that will most likely happen with the offers he will be getting.
