Could Lavar Arrington Fit Here?

It's pretty obvious around here (I live in the DC area) that he will be cut. My question is... if he's cut would u make a play for him?
I mean he seems to have the perfect size for a 3-4 D, 6'3 255, nice speed, know he can blitz and hold up against the run. And I think he could play opposite Bradie James on the inside or Ware on the outside. Truthfully, I think the Deadskins have been makin a mistake not puttin him at ILB. I thought that's where he did his damage at Penn St.
I know a lot of people will say something about the mess that went on around him this season, but in my opinion it was the result of some people in that organization not being completely truthful with him. That's definitely a problem he wouldn't have here with Parcells. Any opinons r welcomed, just throwing something out there.

I know good and well that LaVar wouldnt want to be a Cowboy. I would love to see him in the Blue and Silver though. He would be a good fit, the guy makes game-changing plays, and is flat out one of the best in the league. Hell, if we can somehow pick up LaVar, and address our FS needs with Chavous, our defense would be one of the best in the league!!!!!!!

Look at it
-FA defensive pickups- LaVar, Chavous

2006 Defense
CB's- Henry, Newman, Glenn
FS- Chavous
SS- Williams
LB's- Ware, Arrington, Fujita, Burnett
DE- Spears, Canty
DT- Glover

It would be a dream if LaVar were to come to Big D, I seriously doubt it would happen, but that would be a #1 defense right there.

I would love for him to be in the silver and blue, but i really doubt that it will happen...........sorry!!!!!!

The knock on him is hes too much a free lancer and cant play within a system.

As big a systems guy as Parcells is, He will have a heart attack watching Arrington not be where hes supposed to. Even if hes making plays.

I dont know, I am intriqued by Arrington, just heard that hes not a good team player. not a cancer, but just too much hot dog and not enough bun.

Parcells can live with free lancing if the guy makes plays. Arrington would be a great fit, but how much money would he want?

His heart for the game is waning. Arrington is about Arrington. I could see him becoming a cancer. Certainly is an elite LB, but the knock on playing within a system is legit, contrary to what he says. He would be even better if he played with the team instead of promoting himself.

LA would be a good fit in a 3-4 for sure. His best asset is his pass rushing ability.

I think he is a very similar player to RW. Hard charging and hittign guy who attacks based on instinct and doesn't always execute the play called.

The Skins can toss out whatever they want about the guy but when he played their defense was better. No one was crying about his freelancing when he sent Shaun Alexander out of the game or when he slammed Troy to the ground. Having the physical ability to do that changes games.

Now whether or not BP could deal with him I do not know.
I suspect he could considering he dealt with LT. LA might be as close to LT as it gets in temperment, need of a face transplant, cockiness and speed/power ratio.

Parcells used LT to freelance all over the field. I do think that Parcells could make Arrington great but I dont' know if I could keep my beer down if I had to watch him. I guess if I can watch Emmitt get flattened in a Cardinal uniform, I can probably take anything. Time will tell but I would be shocked if he came here.

I thought that at first but since he has as much reason and anyone to hate Snyder and the Skins I am now all for his coming here ready to bring pain to them twice a year. In fact he may take less money just to do so.

i'm all for grabbing disgruntled, disenfranchised yet quality players from division rivals. that is a win-win.

Man, that hit was 5 years ago - or more. No one had any problems with him back then.

Whateverhappened to that contract squabble he got into accusing the skins of cheating him out of 5 mill or whatever it was? I cant believe they pulled that on him and he wants to be a Commander again? Sounds like hes pretty dumb too.

He commented today that he is going to restructure his contract, like a lot of other players that want to stay Skins. He would never play for the Cowboys, anyway! He hates them!

It's true. He does hate the Cowboys. I don't want him anyway. He never plays disciplined. I would rather have Akin Adoyele who plays coverage as well.

If we had LA, we would have a pass rushing presence outside of Ware. We could run teh 3-4 the way it's supposed to, disgusing the 4th edge rusher.

He was contemplating retirement, as I think I heard, which isn't good. Im not sure what his drive is.

I dont think he's nessecarily a team cancer, I just dont see him as a great presence in the locker room either.

Depending on the price, I might be interested

I tend to disagree. Think L. Taylor. Biggest freelancer to ever wear the cleats. He once came to the sidelines after a big play he made and BP asked him "What was that?" "That's not a play." LT told him "Maybe you should put it in on Monday." :D BP told this story.

As for Arrington.........I could take him or leave him.

Fujita will have a hard time becoming a starter, and Ferguson is better at nose tackle than Glover. Fowler just may become the middle linebacker Parcells is looking for, Thornton may fit in the mix on the outside as well.
