Yes. According to this article, Melvin Ingram and Michael Crabtree both tore their ACLs at the same time last year and returned in December to help their teams.

Did it ever get announced if Lee's injury was the "terrible trio"? If the meniscus was also torn you can forget it. That would add minimum 6-8 weeks to the recovery process from what I've read

So you want to rush a player prone to injury back early from a serious knee injury? The entire medical/training staff should be fired if this is somehow under consideration.

This tweet from Albert Breer: "A sliver of good news on the injury to Cowboys LB Sean Lee - I'm told he only tore the ACL in his left knee. It's not a multi-ligament tear."

Time to move on, gentlemen. Sean Lee is a waste of time. He's got all the ability besides availability.

By December you'll be talking about the 2015 draft.

Doesn't cost anything aside from a pre cutdown roster spot to see if he can return

6 month recovery time is most commonly cited. That puts us into December

He could, but he shouldn't. He should just wait until next year and undergo a full year's worth of rehabilitation.

We're talking about Sean Lee. He needs to be handled extremely carefully if he is in fact in this team's future as I expect. I don't doubt that Sean or any pro player can rehab viciously and return to the field in 6 months. I don't think it's in the player's best interest in this situation and certainly not the team's.....
