Could Ogletree Get Cut?

No.

Are we sure?

Let's say we keep 10 in the secondary - Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick, McCann, Gordan - CBs and Ball, Sensabaugh, Hamlin, Church and McCray (as a special teams player) as safeties. (EDIT: I left off AOA, so EVEN if one of the above get cut - i.e. Church, McCann, McCray - the point remains the same)

So we cut Watkins, one of our best special teamers. This makes Hurd more valuable. So lets say we keep Hurd.

NOW, as is already documented there is a GREAT chance we keep 10 lineman.

So do we REALLY keep SIX receivers? Miles, Austin, RW, Crayton and HURD.

What does Ogletree bring? Can he bring it on special teams? Does he really bring enough?

When the current roster situation, I am not sure he makes it.

Ok - go ahead and call me crazy. Just remember, I'm not saying its happening, but I dont think its impossible.

They would cut Hurd over Ogletree for sure.

Ogletree is the guy with all the potential.

Hurd's best hope is to be a poor man's Patrick Crayton, imo.

That isn't a bad thing for Hurd.

I don't think he will get cut but it is not beyond the realm of possibility. He needs to step it up or all bets are off.

I'm still waiting to see the unbridled potential so many claim Ogletree has. Sure his speed has to count for something, but not everything. So far he hasn't produced much as a reciever, nor as a return man.

Really? We have projects in Brandon Williams, Jason Williams, AOA, and maybe Octavian and/or Leon Williams.

So, how much potential is going to be kept on the roster?

I said it before and I'll say it again, I'd keep Hurd and Ogletree and cut Crayton.

Lol. Way to make a strong reasoned point.
I shouldn't need to point out the reasons why he won't get cut. This same thread has been made 100 times.

Link? Just 1 of the 100 you claim with the points I made in the original post regarding evolving roster decisions.

Just in the interest of accuracy, in your OP you had us cutting AOA. If we keep AOA too (a given I would think), that means 11 DBs.

No. Ogletree is not going to get cut.

I suppose it is possible but not likely.

Ogletree provides more value than the 10th D-back. And I don't think that McCann, McCrary and Church all make this team. They'll be practice squad. Where's AOA?

He's produced everytime he's given an opportunity in real NFL games. Big games, like against Philly and New Orleans. Tough catches in big situations, like the tip-toed 1st down snag against the Saints late in the game to keep the drive alive. Athletic plays like the screen pass against Philly that went for a touchdown. He's simply not used enough.

Did I? My mistake.

That just makes my point even more so.

*sniff, sniff*

Smells like a butt hurt fan who hasn't gotten over 1 meaningless dropped pass 3 seasons ago.

Good idea. Cut a #2 quality WR who you are lucky enough to have as a #4. Genius.

Not at all. He thinks he's a 2 or 3, he's a 4 on this team and he's old and slow. Hurd is much more valueable on special teams. Ogletree is faster, younger and cheaper. Dez is Dez. And Roy and Miles aren't going anywhere this year.
