It's a great idea except for the fact he probably has no talent at all for playing either ILB spot.

My guess is he could cover as well as James though.

Well its the off season and everyone has hope. Spencer showed one flash for a few games, thats it. Granted he will probably play better next year cause he wants a contract, but long term I just don't see it.

He's not a quick twitch athlete. His combine numbers showed it, and now we see it in action. Quick twitch athletes usually lead to great pass rushers, Ware, Mathews, Laroi Glover, Leon Lett, etc. Spencer is definitely not in that category.

If Miller or Quinn just happen to be there, Spencer doesn't prevent me from drafting them. Everyone hated Ellis, but look what he did beside Ware. I don't care if you have hope cause of his age, he has been mediocre at best. If he can't improve dramatically, and can't play inside, let him walk after this year. We need to be planning for that right now.

Just based on what Ryan has said about moving and shifting defensive lineman around during games I'm sure we will find out how effective Spencer will be inside.

Spencer was a defensive end in college, and is an OLB now. He's either a good enough pass rusher or he's not, but he will never be an ILB.

I know there have been a million threads that show that very rarely does a team's 2nd pass rusher run up double digit sacks like people want from Spencer, but it's worth mentioning every time just in case somebody will actually learn something.
