Could the Rams be a Trading Partner?

Wide Receiver Donnie Avery suffered a serious knee injury in tonight's game and the Rams aren't so talent or deep at WR. This is just speculation, but could the Cowboys move one of their WR's to St. Louis? Look at the Rams current roster of available Wide Receivers:

Danny Amendola
Marty Gillard
Danario Alexander
Keenan Burton
Dominique Curry
Brandon Gibson
Kent Jordan
Laurent Robinson

Now, I doubt we would move Roy, but what about Crayton? I just can't picture the Rams going into the season with Sam Bradford as their starter with that group of receivers.

Roy Williams for a 1st, 3rd, and 7th.

Nope, why trade our depth away for draft picks that will help us next April. Crayton is solid and can play WR, PR and even KR. The only one I would trade to them is Holley. He is not going to make the squad anyway.

The way our luck is going this season with injuries, lets keep everyone that can help us out on our squad.

Then why would the Rams trade for him?

I doubt the Rams go trading.

They're in rebuilding mode. You don't do that by picking up average player at a higher cost.

When Bill came in here and started rebuilding, he brought in some veteran talent at WR to help young players along such as Keyshawn and Terry Glenn.

Do you see anything close to either of those players that Dallas could trade?

I don't think Crayton is that much worse than what Key was when he was brought in here.

In the two years Key was here he averaged 70 catches and about 900 yards as the primary receiving threat. I think Crayton could come close to that in St. Louis.

Dez for Bobby....Straight up!

Hmmm....

How about Alex Barron for Bobby....let's right that wrong! :D

Has there ever been a swap and then a reverse-swap (for identical players) in the history of the NFL?

It would certainly create a buzz....

Well, apparently something like it has happened in Baseball:

When baseball player, Harry Chiti (Chicago Cubs), got dealt to the New York Mets for a player to be named later, little did he know that player would be him. The Cubs could spare a backup catcher during the early season, and apparently, the Mets saw enough of Chiti afterward. So, when the Mets later gave the Cubs a list of players from which to choose in order to complete the deal, Chiti's name was there. Perhaps their choice said something about the other players, but there can be no doubt that the Cubs got equal value in return.

Prediction...My kid Danario Alexander will start for them at some point this year.

With or without Avery, the Rams would still have had a top three pick in the draft next year.

Even if the Rams traded for Hurd, the Rams would still likely have a top three pick in the draft next year.

The Rams are going to suck no matter what.

I'd like for the Cowboys to trade Hurd but his salary is just too high. No team will pay him $1.7 mil. Hurd would have to restructure first before any trade could happen. It would be nice to get a 6th or 7th for him, though.

why would the team at the top of the waiver claim wire bother trading?

they have first crack at ANY player that is cut. why would they be motivated to trade for a WR knowing that they are likely cut?

Rams are in a position to claim the best 54th player from any team. They aren't going to give up picks for anyone.
