Few years ago, Parcells gave up a 1st and 3rd for Curtis Martin. Could he/would he do it for Barber? This draft doesn't have a real superstar player ala AD. Chris Long doesn't strike me as one. So here's a thought and I know Miami needs picks, but it could happen.

1st/3rd for Barber gives us 3 1st's, 1 second, 2 3rds.

Trade down from the 1st overall with Atlanta and pick up one of their second round picks. They take McFadden before Oakland does.

1st pick - Mendenhall - who I think is better than McFadden and will make an excellent pro.

Trade our 3rd and 22nd to move up and take Mike Jenkins

28th pick - Early Doucet

Atlanta's 2nd round pick - Antonie Cason

Our 2nd round pick - best guard available

Miami's 3rd round pick - Chris Johnson

Since we're throwing out mocks, this is mine. we end up with

Mendenhall
Jenkins
Doucet
Cason
Offensive guard
Chris Johnson

RB/CB/WR/OL solved in 1st 3 rounds

If you think Parcells is stupid enough to give up the 1st pick in the draft plus the 1st pick in the 3rd round for Marion Barber then you... well you get the idea.

Why would he trade away the top pick when he could simply use it on McFadden or some other top RB?

Doesn't anyone think anymore?

I really dont think Miami is going to give us the #1 overall for Barber. He is good, but not that good.

Couple of reasons to trade out of the #1 and not draft McFadden.

1) Barber is proven. McFadden is not.
2) why give a 65 million dollar contract to a rookie? Barber won't cost that.

You honestly think the Dolphins are going to give us the #1 overall on day 1 and on day 2 for Barber.

your forgetting the most important element of that trade, Martin wanted to go and be with parcells. Parcells was the closest thing to a father Curtis Martin ever had and he openly said he wanted to play for him in NY.

after that it was just a matter of how.

Ronnie Brown may not be Barber but he is a very good back.

Martin is a HOFer, Barber is not.

He'd fit perfectly with Barber...but not for a #1 and #3

In your dreams, maybe. And maybe Parcells, I mean Ireland, will throw in Ted Ginn to sweeten the pot. And speaking of pot, maybe Parcells will throw in Ricky Williams. And you and Ricky can continue to smoke all the pot you like and then everything becomes possible. Until the police or drug testers come around.

Personally, I wouldn't trade Barber for the top pick straight up in this year;s draft.

And I said before last year's draft, I wouldn't trade Romo straight up for Jamarcus Russell or the top pick.

We'll have to see about that - needs to have a complete recovery from that knee injury.
