He needs to be on the sidelines talking to his coaches when the offense is on the field.
There is no limited role, playing receiver takes a lot of practice to get the timing and chemistry right.
The routes, in combination to reads the WR has to make on the defensive coverage - requires attention to detail and concentration.

He and staff should have him completely focused on his current craft......DB. It's been feast or famine. He can get better with coverage. Let's not let the high INTs overshadow the yards given up.

That's my worry, that he has the INT's in his head, and plays the ball instead of the receiver, and gets burned

Interesting.

Still can't see him doing a whole lot as a WR. I mean, at times, yes. But we shall see.

That wouldn't apply to Diggs. He already has the basic knowledge of both positions. And I ain't saying he should be a starter. Only a limited role .
Him getting a few snaps at WR will have no impact on his CB game.

And it's been done before.

I agree with you 100%. But I actually don't think he'll be needed. But I don't see a problem with him playing both sides of the ball if need be. These guys play a total of about 13 minutes of actual game play. There's a difference between being winded and being tired. You shouldn't be winded playing football. Full court basketball or hockey can get you winded fast. Not football.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs caught 11 passes for 88 yards and one touchdown as a freshman at Alabama in 2016. Could he give the Cowboys’ undermanned wide-receiver corps a boost in training camp?

If the Cowboys WRs are so bad that Diggs is an upgrade, then the Cowboys are probably not good enough to make it to the playoffs anyway...

Trying it with Deion is a different story. His athletic ability was so much better than everyone else on the field that it was worth giving him snaps at WR.

Diggs athletic ability is not significantly better than the top 3 options at WR.
- Diggs success at CB is due to technique, awareness and understanding how to play within in scheme, combined with very good hands for a DB.
- i.e. Diggs is similar to a RB with great 'vision'. He sees the field better than many CBs and he knows exactly where his help defenders should be located.
- Maybe a point guard in basketball would be a better comparison.

The Cowboys aren’t about the risk their starting corner to play WR. If Diggs gets injured playing WR we take a big hit in the secondary.

The other thing is yes he can help by making them be better in practice to beat him.
