Is the Fasano pick insurance in case they can't re-sign Jason? I guess I have always taken it for granted that we would re-sign him. This pick scares me, not for the player but for the implication for the future.

I don't think Witten is going anywhere.

BP loves his 2 TE sets.

Witten will be resigned

I'm still not sure if he'll be a UFA or RFA. If the former, then hopefully we can convince to sign an extension before the end of the season. Otherwise, in the offseason he might be tempted to check out the marketplace as a young All-Pro TE would a really prized commodity and he'd be offered a lot of dough by another team.

Witten will be a UFA next year.

They will probably begin renegotiations sometime in TC on an extension.

Drafting Fasano should have no bearing on re-signing Witten.

BTW, anyone find it odd that we spent a higher pick on Fasano than we did on Witten?

anyone know what a blocking TE is???

witten is going nowhere.

Anyone know what Hannam was signed for? Yes...as a blocking TE, not to mention all the other TEs on the roster who are mainly for blocking as well.

Wasted pick, especially for a second rounder.

Goodness....the BOys could have gotten Walker from GB for a second!

No problem with the pick except for this fact.

heh - oh my. how could i ever forget the monumental signing of hannam. you're right, that solidified the position as much as anything.

i'm not touting it as a good pick - i hate it. but it has NOTHING to do with witten being here or gone and that is all the junk i was tired of hearing.

WE have $12.6 million left in cap space. There's more than enough to give Witten a new contract. Chill Out. Trust in Bill and Jerry.

Franchise tag for TE is cheap, he will never get to visit other teams
