Could you actually improve the team?

Not by you taking over the draft or making trades or firing Garrett or anything, if you were hired for your Input would there be anything you could do to improve the team?

Probably not. I would first raid the JW Blue closet and then fire everybody. Then I'll start a competition on here for the newly open posts. Won't take long for me to pass out in a happy stupor from there, hoping when I wake up the smart people left behind did things.

Just being honest.

I think I could call to give Byron Bell help on the backside, yes. And I'd get rid of the green pants.

I would love to see what some would do to "improve" the team. This is going to be a fun thread!!!!!!!!

There are a bunch of armchair Owners here Me included LOL we don't have half the resources they do when evaluating players - trades are not as easy as people think they are ! If we had access to everything they have maybe with training someone could have something useful to offer but the majority would get the come on man look LOL

Individual decisions, yes. Holistically, not a chance in hell. It's why I spend my free time discussing football as a hobby and they get paid millions of dollars to do it for a living.

The first approach that comes to mind...

Everyone here thinks they could improve the team the board is loaded with GM’s. It would be hard improving the team by keeping Garrett. The first step in building a great team is hiring a solid coach. You’re not going to improve by trying to overcome the flaws of your head coach. If you’re not going be taking over the draft or making trades or firing Garrett and you can only provide impute nothing is going to change. Jerry is provided with input all the time from everyone and the team has been pretty much stuck in neutral for the past 20+ years. Impute alone certainly isn’t going to get it done changes have to be made especially at HC.

yes, first ill take a flame thrower to everything. The first thing is everyone and i mean everyone has to re apply for their jobs, top to bottom. and i mean the front office as well. If this is legit and I could have JJ agree that my decisions are set in stone. Everyone has to re apply for their job.

The first hire would be a GM with power to do as they see fit. Than everyone takes a back seat to that. Than we get into marketing, front office stuff. The GM hires a real coach, that coach has to hire his staff. Than we re evaluate the scouting department. Everything would be gutted. Than top to bottom we install new ways of doing things, what we want for the future and the present so we leave behind a "Legacy" past.

We also gut the stadium and put in more "fan friendly" prices. New ways for fans to see the game even if that means tvs outside. We do more promotions and getting the true fans involved, we do a lot for the areas around us. Educations, jobs, skills, charities.

After all that, than we get to work.

I think the answer to that question is a question as to how much Jerry really controls everything. Is Jerry the problem or is Garrett, Jerry or Wade, I think BP really made a culture change that was not there since Jimmy left. He made a difference. He just did not stay long enough to reap the rewards.

I don't think Wade was a good coach. I am not a big of of Garrett but I am not near as negative on him as some around here. I do know the one constant since Jimmy left is Jerry. The team plays hard for Garrett, they just can't put it together all the way.

Tell Jerry to hire a GM.

How many times has he heard that? lol Jerry said he’s constantly receiving imput from everyone. He’s been receiving input for decades. Input isn’t going to improve the team.

The only way input could possibly help this team is if you’re a hypnotist and can have 20 minutes alone with Jerry to convince him to hire a GM and make a head coaching change with a qualified HC.

I'd start with the stadium prices;
I'd lower ticket prices 50%, parking would be $5-$20, beers would be $4 each, sodas/bottle waters would be $2.50, and those little Papa John's Pizzas would be $4.50.
Food prices would be cut 40-50%.
Stadium Drink/snack vendors would make $1 commission each item they sell
instead of 50 cents; those guys carrying 50lbs of heavy product up and down the stands.

Convince Jerry that he can keep his precious GM title but should cede more control of the team to son Stephen — including the ability to fire the HC, any/all staff and replace them.

Just my opinion, but I don’t believe SJ would have the same patience with the ongoing mediocrity as his father does.

If this person can't take over the draft or make trades and Garrett or any coach is still there that person has no means to make any changes so I would say it's an impossible task that can't been done. If this person doesn't have the authority to do anything there's no way they can do anything good or bad for the team.
