Kind of got the idea after reading xwalker's and a few others posts.

Would it be possible to move Martin to LT and let someone like Alacron or McGovern play RG?

He's the beat OL on the team and you don't have to move Tyler around in his rookie vear.

Before you throw tomatoes, I'm only asking as a last resort possibility.

Probably. He looked good when he played RT for a short time.

I think we add at least one or two more offensive linemen.

if we're smart we do.

There are veterans out there.

Also, players like Dare Rosenthal could hit the market after cuts. I was surprised he wasn't drafted. It looks like he'd be a possible cut from the Falcons roster, according to a few writers.

I'm sure there are others out there bit that's someone I'd kick the tires on. if possible.

He would not be a top LT but he would probably be decent to maybe better than that. He did plat LT for years at ND.
Problem is we right now are rather short of guards that can get the job done.
While he would prefer to stay at guard where he is indeed a HOF player, he is a pro and will do what the team needs him to do.
The morons whining about him not wanting to play anything else are the usual suspects (no need to say more)

They need to let the rookie they just spent a first round pick on play tackle, otherwise the pick made no sense. There wasn't a need to replace Connor Williams with a first round pick. Connor McGovern needs to play LG and Tyler Smith needs a crash course at LT.

If plan was to insert Ball or Walesko, they may as well put Dak on IR right now and save him.

When they got Smith they said he was a project tackle who can start for guard right now. I don’t think it’s wise to put they guy who gets penalties at starting tackle off the bat.

I'd say you've probably got a point by saying that it might take a last resort. There's no doubt that sometimes we have to do what's necessary with what we've got. I think Zach Martin could likely play LT well enough to succeed, although, there might be a better way to resolve that problem if we're able to find a good backup for the LT spot. Switching two players' jobs is very risky.

Tyron Smith sustained what has been described as "a serious hamstring pull," lately. Of course, that demands that corrective measures are needed, in order to resolve that situation satisfactorily. My first inclination would be to find and sign the best candidate outside of our current roster to man that position, as that need requires. Of course, that would, most assuredly, be somewhat costly.

I do think it'll likely require more than our FO wants to spend to do so. If Jerry and Stephen actually want to be playoff candidates, they'd better consider spending enough to get the best qualified player who's currently available for the job. There are some out there, if they're willing to pay the man. Let's hope they'll break open their bank book to secure him. Otherwise, it may be far less than a favorable solution.

You could, but why move a player who is an all pro at 1 position and make him an average player at another? Also, keep in mind, Martin helps Steele on the left side, even Baz at center.

I have been saying this for years.
