Couple Game Questions

Just a few things that I was wondering about.

1st. What was the flag thrown on TO when Crayton scored his 1st TD? Block in the back? But they ended up picking it up cause Crayton was in the endzone? Is that right? I've never seen a block in the back called on a situation like that. That just doesn't sit right with me that the official even threw that flag.

2nd. Anyone know why Newman was returning that last punt? Well into the 4th quarter, I was pissed to see him line up back there. Those are the times when you wish Stanback was active so he could get some live practice.

Also, maybe someone who has been to TS more then I have can help out. Sunday was my 1st game there and I was just wondering why they don't show hardly any replays on the screen? Nothing but fan cam. Anyone been to any other stadiums seen the same?

1) It was a bad flag. The ref that threw it was corrected by his peers & it was picked up. However, if Owens would have hit the Rams player in the back (or even back half of his shoulder) while Crayton was still outside of the end zone, then the flag would have been legit.

2) questionable move, but safe time to put him is a couple of "live fire" situations. He hasn't played much in the last few weeks. They would probably rather let him work out his punt return rust with the game safely won than when it's on the line. Plus, as much as Crayton was lighting it up, he was probably still sucking on oxygen.

3) not sure, but probably a combination of the broadcast belonging to the network & not the stadium, and the fact that 80,000 referee's are too many.

I don't see how it could have been legit. Owens was right next to Crayton and the defender was entering the play. I just cannot see any way that it would be a penalty. Thats leaves too much room for a defender to just give up his back in hopes of drawing the penalty when he knows that he is going to be blocked any way.

I dunno, I just don't like the fact that the official even thought about it as a penalty. You are probably right but I just don't think that it would have been a very fair penalty.
