Courtney Brown can be a starter?

Actually that was backup for Three years and starter by the middle of his fourth.
he wasnt even a backup, he was our 3rd stringer for almost 4 years. plus he broke records in college. there isnt any connection between those 2.

Man, when I first read that title....I thought wow....hope this came from Jeff Ireland.....well, my excitement is gone

Three actually, thanks for playing. But what does that have to do with anything?
dude you started to compare him to romo. why did you brought that up? romo broke all kinds of records in college, he was very experienced and needed almost 4 years to develope. i have no idea how this has anything to do with brown, but whatever.

I've actually heard better reviews so far for Alan Ball. One of the coaches said to look out for him because he can play. I believe it was Brian Stewart. He also said Reeves and Jones were looking good. From what I understand, the early word on Brown is that he looks the part, has great attributes for the position, but is very raw and lacks experience against high quality opponents and it showed up a little in mini camp. I like the guy but it will be a stuggle for him to make the team. He is a strong candidate for the practice squad and may get stolen at some point during the year.

dude. he was responding to the fact that you apparently think that becasue Brown came from cal poly, he can't play in the NFL. Hence the  .

He pointed out that our starting QB, everyones darling Romo, also came from a small school.

The correlation isn't that difficult to figure out.

Dude, you're wrong again. He was the 3rd stringer for two years, the 2nd stringer for one year, and the starter in his 4th year.

How do you expect anyone to take you seriously?

Wrong again. He was the #3 guy his first year, then the #2 guy for 8 games (half the season) his second year, then the #2 guy all of his third year and until he became the starter in his fourth.

In case you are confused; Henson was the #2 guy for only 8 games his whole time here.

Check out his resume'

6 foot 1
205 Pounds
4.3 40 YARD DASH
15 Times lifted 225
41 inch verticle
10 foot 11 broad jump
Former Wide Receiver
Track Star
Did not allow a touchdown in two years
Did not allow a reception in three games (2006)
.... and more

This guy is amazing and I blieve he was a steal at this pick. I believe if he shows the same stuff from college to the NFL he could be an immediate starter.
Well, he clearly has some potential. That's what late second day draft picks are for.

Maybe he'll stick and earn some playing time. That'd be nice.

If we play more man to man, due to more emphasis on the pass rush, Brown probably is better off. By just having to man on someone most of the time instead or trying to recognize routes and read the QB, etc- it would be easier for him to make an immediate impact.

Anyone remember Randall Williams? Supposedly the "fastest man in the NFL". How'd that turn out?

He was never billed as that. Just on the Cowboys.

if you didn't knock Brown's school, he wouldn't have had to give you an example of another small-school dude who made it

Which is the point I'm making. He had all the physical tools but didn't transfer it to the field.

I want Courtney Brown to succeed very much, but physical tools aren't everything.

What, exactly, is your point?

Now, by this rational, because they both came from small schools and are both exceptionally fast....Brown is now the same player as Williams?

I mean, they don't even play on the same side of the ball...and Williams, by all means hasn't become a star player, but he's still in the league six years later...that's an accomplishment by most standards. You were aware he plays for the Raiders now, right?

You've essentially picked one guy whom didn't work out for US, but for every few small school guys that don't cut it, there's another that does. Go figure. Or perhaps we should just forego the draft all together now.

That's reasonable. Unnecesarry, but reasonable.
