Here are some quick thoughts I had after reviewing the All-22 Film:
RB: I thought DeMarco Murray ran extremely well on Monday. It’s a shame that the defense couldn’t keep it close because Murray could have had a career day. I was hard on Murray earlier in the year, but he has really picked up his game the past few weeks and has run very hard. This is the DeMarco Murray that the Cowboys need for their offense to be successful. I was very pleased with Murray’s game, outside of one bad route in the pass game. Murray is playing the best football of his career.
WR: There isn’t too much to say about this group that I haven’t said in previous weeks. Dez was doubled often, but was still creating separation. Miles and Williams struggled to beat single coverage and Cole Beasley continues to make plays. It was your typical Dallas Cowboys wide receiver game.
TE: I want to highlight Gavin Escobar for a second. The catch that he made down the seam was a play that I wish we would see more often from him. Everyone knows that I have been critical of the Escobar selection and you could say his rookie year may have validated my opinion. But I actually don’t think that’s the case. I’ve seen a few plays from him that make me curious as to what he might become in a few years when he is the full time starter.
