Why does it say world champions and not national champions?

I always struggle to get to grips with this and the baseball thing using "world' in place of "American'

World Champions still applies. As there are no football leagues anywhere in the world that competes, or can compete with the NFL.

The NFL tried NFL Europe. That last what, 4 or 5 years. It may be big over there, but no one else has tried to start other leagues.

CFL is the only other country with a professional football league. And they do not care to compete with the NFL. They are perfectly fine doing their own thing. Then the field is a different size, as well as some of the rules.
