Nothing major here, just didn't see it posted.
Covington suffered a calf injury and won't participate in this week's OTAs as a result, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reports.

Analysis: The injury doesn't seem to be serious, but this early in the offseason program, Dallas is being cautious with any player less than 100 percent. Covington is expected to supply the Cowboys with depth off the edge in 2019 after collecting 7.5 sacks in four seasons for the Texans.

Should be including his first name.

Dallas also has a LB Christian Covington.

Yes sir,, I was confused a few weeks back, thinking that we were converting our Rook LB from last years draft to a DL.... lol

Minor injuries aren't worthy of any undue stress.

They're simply a part of the game of football.

I'm glad it's minor and overcome easily.

No biggie. We're just warming up for the real serious injuries in preseason.

No starters on the Cowboys use preseason to warm up for the regular season. They just go in cold in week 1. The preseason is for watching the gauntlet of bums!

Speaking of injuries. I have a prediction. I'll wager a beer at ATT stadium that Sean Lee injures a hamstring before week 5. Just a wild guess.

It is only OTAs, but Hyder now has a leg up on Covington. It is pretty certain only one will make the team.
Different positions. Hyder is a LE who can play 3T as well in pass rush situations. Right now Covington should be the backup 1T and he might play a little 3T which is pretty much what Marinelli requires from his backup 1Ts.

My thoughts exactly, but from what's being reported that's not their plan for Covington. Which is disappointing

Who is Covington? Another scrub DT signing?

Both have the upper edge to make the team right now.
Let the rookies prove themselves.

One is a DE and the other a DT though supposedly they can play inside or outside. Which may mean both are doomed with this teams love for versatility and moving them around. Which means they can’t excel at one position.

Pretty sure Covington is not an edge. He was a 3-4 DE in Houston. He's likely playing the 1 here. Sort the opposite of edge

Isn't Hyder more of a LDE/3DT and Covington more of a 1DT/3DT? Also, Hyder's injury past is much worse. He barely played in the past 2 seasons.

To be fair..

Our LB we drafted last year is Chris Covington

Our DT we signed as a FA this year comes from the Texans.. and his name is Christian Covington.
