Cowboy’s W-L Record NFCE….A 9 year comparison.

How good is your football team? The benchmark is how well you do within your division. My conclusion: We must improve.

Last Division Title “98”
Last Playoff Win “96”

GAILEY:

1998: 8 - 0
1999: 5 – 3
Total: 13 – 3

Cardinals: 3 – 1
Eagles: 3 - 1
Giants: 3 - 1
Commanders: 4 – 0

CAMPO:

2000: 3 – 5
2001: 4 - 4
2002: 1 – 5
Total: 8 - 14

Cardinals: 2 - 2
Eagles: 0 - 6
Giants: 1 - 5
Commanders: 5 - 1

PARCELLS:

2003: 5 – 1
2004: 2 - 4
2005: 3 – 3
2006: 2 – 4
Total 12 - 12

Eagles: 3 - 5
Giants: 4 - 4
Commanders: 5 – 3

Look at Dallas' gaudy 7-2 record with non-NFC-east opponents this season.

Excellent point. IMO, Parcells built this team to beat the AFC teams he may face in the Super Bowl. If we can get there, we can win it. The other NFCE teams didn't fare as well against the AFC.

Gotta love going 7-11 against NFC east the past 3 years.

Mmmmmmm-hmmmmmm. Tastes good, don't it?

Will agree it is amazing w/our dismal division record we still had a shot at winning the division. That usually isn't the case.

Having a home playoff game is usually advantageous......with this years team it seems we will probably do better on the road.

If your division rivals have the blueprint to beating you......??????
Remember it's "A Copy Cat League".

That is why I said "If" instead of "when" we get there.

Isn't it ironic that the best season we've had in our division was in Parcells first year before he got 'his guys'. Isn't it also ironic that we had less talent and that the NFC was much stronger in 2003. Plus, almost half of our divisional wins came in that year and 11 of our 12 losses have come since that year. HMMM!

Familiarity with the Cowboys yields success for teams. We lack imagination on defense and a little on offense as well. Last year we had imaginative offense but no offensive tackles and average to bad guard play as well. Imagination helps you change and grow, makes you less predictable, and thus harder for teams to gameplan against.

Something doesn't add up.

The numbers vs the teams adds up to 13-3, not 11-5.

My bad it should be 13-3. Edited 1999 should be 5-3

We're 0-6 in the second meeting against winning teams during Parcells' tenure.

Cause BP doesnt know what an adjustment is.
Not only are we 0-6, we haven't scored more than 10 points in any of the games.

But I guess it could also be argued that we're winning games we have no business winning when we face teams the first time.

Man, this thread needs to be nuked. Now I am all depressed after working up a tad of optimism after that pile of poo last week.
God we suck. :laugh2:
