Cowboy games in London?

If the Cowboys make the playoffs, and play in the 1st round, I’ll be in London during the game. Do they televise NFL wild card games anywhere in London? I don’t care what time the game is shown, as long as it is televised.

Thanks for any info

I imagine they do. Your best bet would probably be an area with a lot of Americans in it. A friend studied abroad last year and caught the Superbowl at like 4am or some other ungodly hour.

They usually carry NFL games on Sky Sports in England. They always have a couple of regular season games on each week and I'm sure they would carry all the playoff games.

You can usually catch an NFL game anywhere in the world. I watched the Superbowl last year in Hanoi at 6am.

I feel ya, I was on a business trip in Berlin for the MNF Seahawks game last year and, aside from the time difference, couldn't find a single place showing it.

Make sure your hotel has satellite TV. In England, they kick everyone out of the pubs at 10 or 11 so even if you could convince them to put American football on the tele, the time diff is 6 hours and you'd likely miss the game.

Just a link in case anyone cares. I live in Europe and get my NFL from SKY. The coverage isn't bad but the studio cast is a little on the weak side. They usually only show two games a weekend (except for now whe Saturday games start). I'm really stoked though because one of them this week is DAL @ WAS.

Thank you all for your help. I'm not sure how to get SKY, so I'll just have to hope that the hotel I'm staying at has it. I'll watch the game at 3:00 am if I need to. I guess I'll be waking up some fellow guest. Any more info on bars and hotels that have Sky would be appreciated.

Thank you

All hotels will have some sky sports channels, its the equivalent of ESPN here, so there are a few Sky Sports channels. You might want to call the hotel you are considering staying at to check if they have the channel which is showing the playoff game you want to watch.

Here is the list you should check nearer to the time that shows which channel each game is going to be shown on:

Bars don't typically show NFL games, unless you could find an American themed sports bar (I don't know of any right now, but I'll ask) so I think you'll have better luck watching it in the hotel.

Just pulled these from a London Bar Guide, apparently they all show NFL games. The second one seems the most similar to what you'd be used to in a sports bar. The last one sounds like a strip club to me, but there you go.

F3K
171 North End Road, W14
(020) 7603 6071

With 16 TV screens spread all around the premises and almost continuous coverage of football (be it Premier League, First Division, Scottish Premiership, Spanish League, Bundesliga, etc, etc) F3K (or the Famous Three Kings, as it is sometimes known) can quite accurately claim to be one of the top sports bars in town. If your idea of "being sporty" is getting sloshed whilst watching TV in West London then it'll be right up your alley.

Sports Café
80 Haymarket, SW1
(020) 7839 8300

Just as the Uffizi Gallery could be considered the art lover's ultimate destination, or the Bauhaus Archiv somewhere for fans of early 20th century architecture to revel in history, London's Sports Café must surely be one of the planets finest sports bars. This temple to skilful athleticism boasts 120 TVs, 3 bars and a dance floor. It is even open till 3am! With a menu featuring delights such as Foul Play, Souper Bowl and Power Play Satay, it's almost as inspiring as Jenson Button's new haircut.

Rainbow Sports Bar
72 Shoreditch High Street, E2
(020) 7739 2959

As well as boasting a couple of big TV screens (usually featuring boxing or American Football) this place has something none of the joints above can offer, namely naked women.

Armed Forces Network (AFN) should carry the games live or at least they did in 1992 when I was last in the area.

I was just over there for my first time all last week! It is a 5-hour time difference, so the 1:00 (EST) games start at 6:00, and the 4:15 games start at 9:15.
The best place I found, right off of Piccadilly Circus in central London, is the Sports Cafe on Haymarket Street. It's pretty big, and was crowded & noisy when I was there - a real good time! I watched the Texas - Colorado game 2 Sat. nights ago there, and also the Cowboys-Giants game the next night. Had a good time. Take tube to Piccadilly Circus, come up and then go into a store & ask where Haymarket Street is (or map it before you go)... It's app. 4-5 blocks from Piccadilly Circus. Have fun, and oh yeah - watch your *** crossing the street... you forget the first time or so, but you have to LOOK RIGHT, not left, as the cars will be coming from that way as soon as you step off the curb!
