Our country is dealing with the aftermath of more violence on Friday morning after four Dallas police officers and one Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer were murdered by sniper fire in the city on Thursday night.
Seven other police officers and two civilians were also wounded in the shooting and responses are pouring in from around the United States, including from several current and former members of the Cowboys. Quarterback Tony Romo said the community is “stunned” and asked for support for the families of the fallen officers while defensive lineman Jack Crawford called the perpetrators “terrorists.”
Crawford also referenced the two black men killed by gunshots fired by police officers, calling it a tragic week nationwide. Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott said “the violence has gotta stop” while Eagles linebacker and Dallas native Emmanuel Acho said he will be “brainstorming how to make real change.” Others including Troy Aikman, Terrell Owens, Tyrone Crawford and Dak Prescott have also shared some of their thoughts on social media and there are surely others that have escaped our eye on Friday morning.
This is the second post of this type on PFT this week and we can only hope that the real change Acho wrote about will come before there have to be any more.
