With a nom de plume like YoMick, you'll excuse me if I doubt that you judged this one impartially... :D

I just got back from seeing it with about 10 fellas from the church. About half of us thought it was really well done, and a very good movie, the other half thought it was too far fetched.

I personally thought it captured more of the "feel" of Rocky I than any of the others.

I would give it an A for any Rocky movie fan, and a B to B+ just on the strength of how the movie was done.

But that is just my opinion and I'm no movie reviewer :)

I lived outside Philly for a year -- I'd go into town about once a month (Philly is a great city - one of the country's finest) -- the one thing I hated about the place - aside from the Eagles -- was that folks would constantly come on tours, climb the steps of the Philly Museum of Art, take a picture, and then leave. One of the country's most beautiful buildings, one of our finest collections of art - and idiots come only to do the Rocky pose and leave.

Screw Rocky.

About what I expected from you :laugh2:

Yeah he is such an idiot for creating blockbuster franchise's in Rocky and Rambo.

Forget about the Rocky movie for a minute... the guy, Sylvester took a chance and it has been paying off ever since. Ah, Salute!

What shot did you ever take? (dont answer, its a line from one of his movies)

Whats even more messed up is that Joe Frazier is from Philly. Why didn't the city build a statue for a real champion who nearly got killed in a few fights versus a fictional character?

Props to Sly for the first one. That was a classic -- but it was classic DIY. He wrote it, I cried. 8 years old and it moved me.

Hell, Rocky II was good as well. But really, beyond that? Come on. Mr. T? Dolph Lungren? Stupid. Just plain stoopid.

especially since Sly himself likes the cowboys and Romo, he thinks Romo is living Rocky's story.

I am going to see it tomorrow, instead of that Vikings at Packers game, two worthless teams.

All kidding aside... if you cried during first one at 8 years old... he may just get you in this one too.

Joe Frazier was Ali's whipping boy and George Forman beat him like a dog... like a dog.

You are missing the point. He CREATED something that is part of cinematic history. Twice.

Google the story about how he had to keep that statue in his own backyard for years because the city didnt want it there.

I take nothing away from the Rocky series. Stallone did a good job of creating a master piece while living in poverty at the time. Ali did not beat Frazier like a dog. Frazier beat him on the first fight, and even though Ali knocked him out in the next two fights, Ali was taken to his physcial limits. He even stated between rounds that he felt like he was dying. Frazier fought a better fighter and lost, but he gave everything he had. As for Foreman he Koed Frazier, but the ref stopped the fight. I think Frazier got up from five knockdowns but still wanted to fight. Foreman obliterated him, but Frazier should a ton of heart just getting up.

The point I was trying to make is that the city of Philadelphia should have honored one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. He always gave his best and he has beaten some great fighters as well. Frazier's statue should have been up before "Rocky Balboa's".

No doubt that Frazier was a good fighter... but had he not fought Ali... what would have had.... he is because of ALI...

If Ali had done more of stick and move(Move like... Sting like) Frazier would have never caught him.

Frazier became champ without fighting Ali... then Ali showed who the champ was.... "The CHAMP is IN THE HOUSE... The CHAMP is IN THE HOUSE... The CHAMP is IN THE HOUSE..."

You know what... with that said... I hear what you are saying and respect that you love the fighter... its all good....

GO Cowboys

Oh BTW I am going to see that movie before the game. Probably tomorrow. Don't forget though, Frazier fought Ali the first time and beat him. He beat the man to become the man. If Frazier would have beaten Ali in the last fight, he would have been known as the greatest fighter ever. However Ali won and earned that right. I respect Ali has well and he is the greatest fighter ever.

I really would like to see a record of people UNDER 45 that liked the movie.

I loved it (28 y.o.).

Half the theater (which was sold out) had to be my age or younger and they were all cheering throughout the movie.
