What I took from S. Jones, is they no looking to lock up Irving now, but he will have time to earn a longterm contract like DLaw next year.

Does Ickes ever make an actual thoughtful point? I don’t follow him enough to have seen one.

The issue with Irving is the deals in front of him, and the fact he missed 8 games this season, 4 of which were lost to suspension. Not remotely the situation with the Crawford deal, and completely unrelated to any nipple rings.

Pretty much exactly what he said. Lawrence. Martin. Hitchens. Irving next year if it’s going to happen. Pretty reasonable too, given the circumstances.

I feel like I say this daily on here Tyrone Crawford freaking blows for what he’s being paid. He shouldn’t be starting anywhere on the line

I think they legitimately have their hands full with the guys up this year. And I think they think Irving is a bit of a wildcard of a dude. He’s going to be expensive.

They probably want to see what Taco gives them and make Irving toe the line for a season here before considering the huge deal he probably expects. And I don’t think they’d be crushed to get a pick to avoid a risky decision if it plays out that way.
