well you know how the cowboys are. they'd rather let you overstay your welcome to be sure you have no talent instead of risk letting you go and letting you be great somewhere else....take Jason Garrett for example..

Also, noting the awfulness of Smith, Hitchens shows his limitations there as well. If he diagnoses the play quickly and correctly, there's a hole for him to explode through before the OG gets him. But he keeps moving laterally and lets the OG peel off the double team and then hit him.

The Cowboys basically overhauled a huge chunk of the secondary this past offseason. They have to do it at LB this offseason.

This is correct, we can't blame the player, he's doing what he can. Blame the coaches that have put him in bad situations. He can't read and react yet, he's reacting then reading, but he can stunt and blitz. He needs to be a situational player until he gets better. I like him and hope he turns into a great player, in the meantime the staff needs to be MUCH smarter with his schemes.
