These reports from OTAs, and even training camp where someone on the roster looks really good are meaningless to me. The question I ask is, did the player who looked good really show something to be optimistic about or is the player he beat a reason to be pessimistic? They are both Cowboys!

A few weeks ago Broaddus reported that Jihad Ward looked good against Connor Williams in the voluntary workouts. To me, that's a yellow flag for Connor Williams. We'll see when the preseason games start but LG is a key position in 2018 if the Cowboys want to improve. If Willaims struggles with Ward, how is going to take on Fletcher Cox?

I feel the same way when I read how some new DB intercepted Dak Prescott or carried a new receiver down the field to make a play.

Seriously? Williams is a rookie. Not many rookies look stellar in their very first practices in the NFL.

It's OTA's. The good news is meaningless. The not so good news is reason for concern. I think I got it:)

OTA injuries and reports of players doing really bad is all I pay attention to.

Players getting beat on a drill is not the same as doing really bad. For example, just about any WR better be able to beat just about any CB in a 1 on 1 pass drill because there's no pass rush and the WR has all day and all field to play a scramble drill.

Ward also looked good against Frederick. Whats your point?

not surprised a rookie struggled vs a vet.
better news...no injuries.
Connor Williams will be just fine, thank you.

It is all spin and all the teams do it. All they have to play against now is each other and I always wonder if there's a vet involved, how hard are they going at it? The only negatives allowed at this time are the injuries; it is all positive to get the fans excited.

We won't know anything until the real season is underway and they're playing for real and getting real game checks.

Cant really take away anything from otas, training camp or preseason.

It’s a raw rookie vs a veteran in voluntary workout drills!!?!

Get a grip, lol!

Pretty sure there are some patriot and eagles players making each other look like crap. You cant have it both ways.

Now if the whole team was looking like crap in OTA's youd be crying about that too.

Trust me, you would.

In the 1st paragraph you state how the media reports during OTA'S is meaningless. In the 2nd paragraph you sight one of these media reports about how Ward looked good against Williams which raises a yellow flag for you.

So which is it?

I can guarantee you one thing; our new LG is going to look a helluva lot better than the one we ran out there last season....you can bank on that!

When I saw that Ward beat Williams, I was like, “Damn, I had hoped Williams could play. Oh well back to the drawing board!”
