CowboysZone Mock Draft

DALLAS is on the clock at #27

Vote how you think the team WILL draft (not how they should draft)

SPECIAL COWBOY OPTION
Two of the options are for trading down (bottom of the list). You would not need to select the trade partner yet. If one of the options wins the vote, then we come back and decide exactly what spot they trade too. Then that team goes on the clock. I'm not taking it too deep into the draft, as we would never get back to Dallas again before the draft. Assume the old value chart to avoid confusion.

I'll leave the option out there for at least 4 hours unless it is so unanimous that I can go on to the next team.

Results so far

Pouncey.

Would love to trade down a bit, but coming up with something reasonable is too speculative.

Pouncey... I could see him starting over Kosier immediately.

If not, that gives us awesome depth on the interior OL.

Maurkice Pouncy. Maybe the best overall offensive lineman and excellent value at pick #27.

Campbell. I wouldn't necessarily like the pick, but Garrett likes his measurables, and they may take him as a developmental player in case Free by some chance does not work out. I'd rather Pouncey, but my gut tells me they take Campbell.

I usually like a trade down if 1) there are no players available that we like at that spot or 2) there are multiple players that we like and still think we can get a little later.
I'm not sure either applies here...so I'll think on it. :)
Pouncey and Matthews seem like very good value here and maybe even Campbell to some degree. But I'd be surprised if we took a RB...even if it a stud like Matthews. I lean toward Pouncey and it's risky if we ant him to trade down...the deepest we could go and still get him would be 30th....maybe not worth it?
But there are players out there that teams would trade up for...maybe even Buffalo or Oakland for Tebow or McCoy. Also, any team wanting Matthews must come to us or SD takes him for sure. ETC, ETC

I'll be back.

Pouncey - he's great value at this position and can start now (slide Gurode to guard for Kosier).

I could get behind this pick and feel good about it on Thursday.

Would we really move 'Dre to guard?

I think Gurode's value goes down a bit if we move him to guard.. he's clearly not as good at that position for whatever reason.

How far of a drop-off do you think Pouncey would have going from Center to Guard? I think it would make more sense to leave 'Dre at Center and move Pouncey to guard.
