Since 1990, when playoff formats were last realigned, there have been 32/33 teams to have started 8-1 and make the playoffs. 31/32 of those teams were division winners.
The Ravens are 5-4 for the fifth time in franchise history. All four of those previous teams made the playoffs with 1/4 of those squads having won the division.
Since 1990, when playoff formats were last realigned, 73/148 of teams that started 5-4 made the playoffs.
This is the first time in the series the Cowboys will enter the game with a better record than the Ravens.
Much is made of how the Cowboys have yet to beat the Ravens in franchise history through four games. The longest such drought before earning the first win against a franchise is six losses to the Packers from 1960-70.
Similarly, the Cowboys are not the only NFL franchise to have not yet notched a win against another team. Currently, there are four franchises who similarly don’t have a win against active franchises:
Chicago Bears: 0-4 versus Houston Texans
New York Jets: 0-10 versus Philadelphia Eagles
Houston Texans: 0-4 versus Philadelphia Eagles; 0-4 versus Minnesota Vikings
Jacksonville Jaguars: 0-7 versus New England Patriots
The Cowboys are 32-16 in pre-Thanksgiving games and currently on an 11-game winning streak.
This is the 24th time the Cowboys will be at home the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Dallas has a 17-5 record in such games.
The Ravens are 1-0 in Dallas with their lone win being the final game in Texas Stadium.
The Cowboys are 0-2 against the Ravens in November.
The Ravens are making their first regular season at AT&T Stadium. Opposing teams are 17-12 in their first games at AT&T Stadium.
The only team remaining to have not played in AT&T Stadium is the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Ravens are 1/9 franchises to have come from another city and relocated...
