Frankly, if we don't make things right with Martin, this team doesn't deserve to win anything. Guys sign deals. They continue to be outstanding and top players as their contracts stop being top of the market, then you have to pay them. If Martin wasn't still performing a top level, he's be cut and owed no money. This is just how it works in a sport where the owners can cancel contracts at the drop of a hat.
Cowboys and Jones's OWE Martin...always in shape rarely misses time....even at 32 years old...that is nothing in Guard years (drafted in 2014 draft )

there can be no justification for not signing Martin.....Jerry does not have it in him to "spin" that one...You just dont treat top character top in their craft

never causes problems except loves to road grate those in front of him....and can pass pro better than any other guard...not even talking about climbing

to second level and so on.....i can only deduce that Jerry is purposely playing it like this to make more money from upset fans...but already has agreed to

terms with Martin...He will be there game one against paltry G-Women

Zack Martin earned himself a bit of leverage in contract talks after today's game.

OL depth is messy and he's been their most consistent OL since his rookie year.

I think Jerry needs to apologize and pay him

Dear fellow Zoners----good to see many of you i have not been hear for about 1/2 year.....but even with a mediocre draft and not charging hard in free agency....if we can secure and get Martin our top lineman back at RG....i dont need to give a Platinum Guarantee...we will be
at least 12-5....and i think we will make serious noise in playoffs or do the unexpected make it to the dance and prevail

that is just how i feel......what do you Zoners say?????

thank you for your consideration in this matter
sincerely

I think it depends on a few things. Health of guys like Tyron Smith, Zack Martin returning and our WRs staying healthy If we do that, I think we could even be 12-5 or better.
I want to see them come out strong and win their first 4 games, one game at a time. At least be 3-1 to start the season.

If Prince Hamlet were a Cowboys fan...

"To plat, or not to plat, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles..."

I say, plat away, and damn the torpedoes.

mr Flamma---yes i believe it will...but if somehow we can stay relatively healthy and of course get Martin back at RG...tougher i would agree with but doable?
Yes. If the Cowboys stay relatively healthy, I'm thinking 13 wins or more. We have to beat the tough teams we'll be facing. I think we can.

Why didn't he plat?

What is he really saying here?
No Martin = 5-12

Jerry better dig himself out of his Johnny walker bottle to realize Martin ain't playing without a new contract. All this talk of the Cowboys have no money is Jerry talk. Salary cap money is like monopoly money.....it can be faked.

Last season early games were Rams Bengals the SB teams previous season . How is Giants Jets tougher than that ? If Dallas is who they should be 2-0 to start the season seems just about right . 12 wins would be 36 in three seasons for MM after a rough 6-10 stinker .

Of course Dallas measures success in trophies want to see deep deep playoff success .

I think they'll actually be better but than last year, but that's not necessarily going to translate into a 12-win season again - they definitely won some games last year they easily could/should have lost. That said, 12 is a pretty good barometer, there's little difference between a team who wins 11 games vs. 14 games, or anything in between, it's mostly just health and schedule.

One thing I would say is that they had as mediocre of a draft as just about everyone else. It was a crappy year, and they at least got guys who should contribute. I think they're the only contending team in the NFC who actually got better (Cooks, Gilmore) because they didn't have holes to fill.
