With Randy Gregory gone, the Cowboys need to draft a DE to play opposite and assist Micah Parsons on the Dline. Someone with good size, strength, athleticism, aggressiveness and speed similar to Micah so Micah can either assist on blitzing or fall into coverage.

Look no further than Ole Miss' Edge DE rusher who is excellent both against the run and the pass:

Sam Williams: The 6-foot-4, 261-pound Williams officially timed 4.46 in the forty-yard dash, along with a 32.5” vertical jump and 10-3 broad jump. Entering January, many draftniks projected the SEC sack leader to be a Day 3 selection. After his combine performance, Williams might be available for the Cowboys when they pick at their 24th spot in the 1st round. He would make an excellent pick to team up with Micah, allowing Micah to play different positions and keep opposing Offenses guessing.

Sam Williams' sexual battery case during the summer of 2021 was dismissed.

Click the link ^^^ to check out how hard he was working out during the offseason a year ago to greatly improve himself for the 2021 season with Ole Miss. Dude is a workout freak and super talented. He would be great paired up with Micah! No way does he make it into the 2nd round. Cowboys would need to take him with their 24th overall pick.

Love his tape, and his combine. He's a monster. Everyone was concerned about Micah off the field too. He's a top 5 edge rusher to me.

Sam appears to be a top 5 pass rusher in the draft just by watching his highlights, playing in the SEC, his production, and combine. Whatever happened off the field must have been really bad if he is considered a second or third round prospect.

Sam Williams is no doubt an elite athletic specimen who possesses an elite combination of speed, hand strength, and explosiveness. He has also put incredible numbers as a pass rusher in his final season at Ole Miss he however is still raw as a player and relies on his speed and power over technique.
Williams projects as a pass-rushing specialist early on in his NFL career with the hope of eventually becoming a three-down player at the next level.

We expect Willaims to be selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft although may be over-drafted due to his elite measurables. Will likely be a combined star...

I also heard yesterday that Broaddus saw him as a 3rd rd player that probably gets taken a rd earlier.

I’m an Ole Miss alum. I think the “off field” stuff is a little overblown. He was briefly suspended while there was an investigation of a sexual assault. No charges were ever filed and he was reinstated to the team. From everything I’ve heard he was a model teammate and citizen his last two years.

You're still going off of what non NFL people say. Jayson Oweh wasn't a first rounder until his combine. It happens. Experts get it wrong alot. I'm sure nobody could accurately tell me why Oweh was a good selection but Williams wouldn't be......minus off field stuff.

He’s the perfect example of overreaction to a great 40 time. He’s not a top 32 prospect for any of the below…zero.

Kiper
McShay
PFF
Daniel Jeremiah
Dane Brugler
Lance Zierlein
Matt Miller

I like the player…but the talk of taking him at 24 is insane.

Yes, 1 poster was incorrectly slotting him as a 1st rd player, which he is not. The highest I have seen him is at 50 from Tony Pauline's board on Pro Football Network, where many have him in that 70 range. Slotting him at 56 makes the most sense.

Yup…prolly go a round earlier than his projection just bc he’s a pass rusher.
