Its early to know anything for sure and things can look better or worse over time. It looks like our 2016 draft was an EPIC draft, and 2017 is, well, possibly nullifying that great draft.

It looks like we major league reached on Taco. While it is too early to call that pick a bust, it doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy does it? So far that pick looks like a big whiff and a miss.

Our second round pick, Awuzie, hasn't been able to get on the field much and when he has, he really hasn't done anything special. There is hope for this pick, but so far we aren't seeing anything significant out of him either.

Our third round pick, Lewis, was hailed as possibly the steal of the draft at the time the pick was made. He has shown flashes that he can play at a high level which is more than the players drafted in front of him have done. Recently though he seems to have regressed. I have seen bad angles and missed opportunities out of him. Having said that, so far, it looks like he may be a player who has the best chance of having long term impact on this roster.

Switzer. Very polarizing player. He was drafted to be a kickoff returner and muffed a punt early in the season and it appeared to shake his confidence. Having said that, he seems to be mentally tough and is starting to regain his confidence. The staff seems to just refuse to get him on the field on offense other than to run the jet sweep that everyone knows is coming.

Woods. I don't know what to think of this guy. You will see him make an occasional play here or there and then appear to be brain dead, or a brain donor on others. I'm not holding out hope on this guy.

Marquez White. Who is he? We need to put him on the back of a milk carton.

Joey Ivey. The Marinelli cheer leader pick. You would think we had just drafted Warren Sapp based on Marinelli's reaction. What a wasted cheer leading effort. Nothing.

Noah Brown. I liked the possibilities this pick brought to the table, but we refuse to use him. We should be seeing what he can do and be getting reps.

Jordan Carrell. Does anyone even know who this guy is?

I'm not saying these guys are definitely busts, but do any of you have any real confidence in this draft class? I don't at this point. I think Lewis is the guy most likely to earn his pay check out of this draft class, with Switzer being a distant second. It's not looking very good for the home team.

This is what happens when you reach for need. It would have been better to have taken the BPA all the way through this draft. Most likely the BPA when we picked in the first was probably a CB. Our strategy of trying to hit a home run by reaching for need in the first and hoping it would be justified by the corner depth of this class may have pissed off the first and second round picks in the process. Time will tell.

So far there is not a difference maker in the 2017 draft.

2016 is losing lots of its luster as well.

Zeke can be banned permanently with another offense
Dak looks beyond terrible at the moment
Collins has been MIA this year
Tapper has “tapped” out with another injury
Brown looks like burnt toast this year

We are in need of a major overhaul. Starting with the GM and coaches

Fire the entire coaching staff. Bring in a coach that actually has some pedigree. Bring in an offensive coordinator and QB coach that will work with Dak and design an offense that focuses on his strengths instead of trying to turn him into Romo 2.0. Bring in a defensive coordinator that attacks instead of reacts.

Spend some money in FA and actually upgrade the roster instead of trying to be the Bengals of the NFC. There's a difference between spending smartly and just being cheap.

Focus on defense in the draft. Just draft best player available at any position on that side of the ball. DL, LB and for the love of God safety.

They do that and the excitement level will be through the roof.

2016 was an epic draft?

Zeke? Ok. Complete stud.

Jaylon? A shell of his former self.

Collins? Regressed from his rookie year. Playing out of position.

Prescott? Don't get me started. We are just wasting time.

Brown? See Collins only not playing out of position.

There's nobody else noteworthy. Frazier is a nice special teams player. That's it.

This is an epic draft class?

I really hope that Tapper comes off of IR and we get to see if he can play in this league or not.

It hinged on Dak being a franchise QB. If he ends up being a career backup then yea that draft wasn't all that great.

Secondary and defensive end are positions that take time to develop. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried.

Taco may be a bust, too early to tell but he’s not a “reach”.

He was a high ranked prospect, I seen him going in the top 15 in several mocks. In 90 percent of mocks, he was a first round pick. That’s like saying that Ryan Leaf was a reach...no he just didn’t live up to his draft pick.

I know that no one will believe me, but I've heard that is, indeed, the case.

From what I understand, the scouts wanted Watt.
If thats the case it tells you how messed up the organization is. Why bother having scouts if your co ordinator is making the pick.

Jourdan Lewis looks like a player. Woods is a player for where he was drafted. Awuzie, nothing much to say about him because he hasn't been on the field. Taco looks awful but it's well known DE's take a long time to develop. Noah Brown looks like he could be a weapon. The problem was the FO blowing up the secondary and thinking that a team of rookies and 2nd year players could hold the load.

Give them a little time Kemosabe.

Lewis and Woods have been significant contributors without a lot of entrenched veterans to help them. Taco has played a lot of snaps. Awuzie looked really good in very limited opportunities. Switzer is contributing. The two 7th round DTs were a dissappointment that they couldn't make the practice squad.
