I realize that many of you are done with this guy, and that’s fully understandable, but at this point in time there’s no reason not to bring him to camp and see what happens.

There’s no guarantee Rico2 is going to pan out, so don’t count on him, and honestly, when Schoon had to replace Ferguson for a couple of weeks, there wasn’t much of a dropoff.

Maybe that says more about Ferguson than Schoon, but yeah we should all be rooting hard for Rico2 to actually get things together quickly. Ferguson is decent, but earlier on he seemed as if he could develop into a reliable playmaker, but he just sort of hit a wall.

I think he has value, albeit minimal. Like swapping him and a 7th for a 6th. One of those type of deals. He won’t fetch a straight 7th, but probably wouldn’t be flat out released either.

But it's also dirt cheap to move on from him. Don't let a better player go just because he's on his rookie deal. I haven't seen anything from him that would make me think we can't field at least as good a team without him or to take away development from players who have upside.

Thats a bit of a whitewash. That would be like a team taking the consensus 25th ranked player with a top 3 pick, and saying "well, MOST teams had him as a Day 1 player...and that's where he was taken!!!"

Most teams had him in the 90- 120 range. We took him in the 50s

Only Jerruh ranked him that high. A huge over draft....just like Mazi. And surprise surprise....the REAL GMs in the NFL were right. Jerry would be better off just reading Mel Jiper Jr's draft list and using that as his big board.

Man everytime we draft a TE in the 2nd or 1st round I just assume they're going to be a bust, lol. Its just too predictable. They should stick to the 3rd and 4th round exclusively where they find solid starters to future hall of famers, lol.

That was even more of a reach pick than Kelvin Joseph…if that’s possible, but they continue to back themselves into corners with needing a starter at a certain position in the draft, largely due to refusal to ‘not get what you pay for’ in free agency. I wonder if Stephen prefers to cook at home since it’s much more expensive to eat out. Wouldn’t want to get ripped off. My God. Some FA deals actually work out in the end if you make the right choices. Maybe they just don’t trust themselves, and if that’s the case, it makes not relinquishing power even all that more criminal.

I’m actually surprised that strategy hasn’t bitten them more than it has. Getting lucky with Lamb, Parsons and Downs falling to them helped that cause quite a bit.

Luke is an inline one dimensional te. A dime a dozen. No need to cut him. Just let him play out his deal. Maybe he overachieves.

Good way to put it. Thing is, that's what he was coming in and it wasn't going to change. Taking him in the 2nd was beyond foolish. You can find his ilk all over rounds 4-7.

Schoonmaker is another example of the Cowboys not getting the guy they wanted in the 1st or 2nd round so they reach for the next guy at that position.

That is the same way we ended up with Tyler Guyton, Kelvin Joseph, and Taco Charlton.

The Cowboys had the #26 overall pick and the Bills drafted Dalton Kincaid with the 25th overall pick. Therefore, the Cowboys reached and took Mazi Smith because DT was another position o need.

The Lions took La Porta with the 34th overall pick and it started a run on TEs. Eight TEs were taken on day #2 of that draft. Only one TE drafted in the top three rounds of that draft has less career receptions than Schoonmaker.

I think Span-Ford is going to end up being the #2 TE.

After we drafted him, I was shocked when I perused game tape of how ordinary(or bad) he was. Looked like a 6th round stiffie.

Jerry unintentionally tanking to get Downs would've been a great GM move if that's what he was planning.

Same with dealing Parsons, which ended up fixing DT. Was inadvertent, but the right move. My hopes for years and years were that these two might stumble across some luck and actually make a significant playoff run, but I had given up on that recently, citing the fact that even when they get close, they choose complacency and a little more cap room years after the fact over getting over the hump in the immediate.

That small bit of hope has been restored with this offseason, but the expectations aren’t high, and that alone is sad….I can’t expect my team to even have a chance to win because of Jerry’s ego. I’m not supposed to have a serious dislike for that person? I’ve been told that.
