HB: Why wouldn’t it be Williams, Mafah, Blue, Leupke? I don’t get why Sanders is indispensable.
Sanders isn't. He got dinged up. Think he is a surprise cut.

TE: Fairweather and Fant shined, but can someone remind me what’s up with Span-Ford? I thought he was blowing minds. And why didn’t we see more John Stephen’s who shined the last 2 preseasons?
Both Ford and Stephens banged up

WR: I see Flournoy over Mingo and Cropper for slot 5, but honestly I don’t see a huge gap between Tolbert and Flournoy…what am I missing?
Mingo injury makes riim for probably Flournoy. The coaches like Tolbert. He has the experience. To use a money ball comparison he gets on base and is cheap.

They likely want another vet option behind Williams. Mafah was a 7th rounder so they likely think they can release him and he will make it back to the practice squad. It happens every year. We like a player but the staff just doesn’t love them.

Spann-Ford is a solid blocker. Fergy catches passes, Schoon is always hurt. I would see if you could get anything for Schoonmaker. Fairweather shower up in all 3 games.

Mingo will go to IR. By the time he returns, somebody will be hurt or banged up.

They likely go

Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert, Turpin. Brooks makes the 53 and Flournoy should also make it. It’s going to be tough putting 7 on the 53 before they put Mingo on IR. Little chance Holden or Cropper make the 53.
Man, I agree with you in WR. But I hate exposing Holden. Really feel same about Mafah, but less strongly.

TEs - I've been impressed by Fant and Fairweather both worthy to make the team in my opinion.

LB - Shemar James played better than I ever thought he would, and Damone looks like a football player again.

OL - the backup OL looks ready to step in if needed, Bass n Hoffman were solid, and RT Cornelius surprised me with his physicality in the run game. Nate Thomas special mention.

WR - Flournoy is ready to play with Dak, CeeDee and Pickens. Jalen Brooks became a deep threat, wow, great camp.

FS - I thought Mukuamu n Clark did some good things seeing the field and making some tackles. Conversely, Juanyeh Thomas hasn't done crap.
Isn't Thimas still hurt?

Probably. I like Mafah, probably more than most. I'll be bummed if he gets snagged. It's a numbers game though.
Agreed. I follow Clemson and Florida pretty closely so was happy we drafted him and James.

I think he’s shown enough to make the 53. I just think a guy like Sanders can be found anytime of the year where as Mafah shows potential

Flournoy has to make this team. I see him, Holden, Brooks and Tolbert as about the same, but Flournoy seems to get open and catch the ball. I wish he was a better blocker but I don't see him doing much of that when he is the game as the 4th WR.
They said on the pregame show Flournoy seems to have been the most consistent of all the wR's fighting for a roster spot.
Not just in PS games, but in practice as well.

Turner, does he make team?

OL I think we go long on, but who makes it goes?

2 spots we've not discussed

I think its mainly between Mafah and Sanders. If Williams gets hurt or doesnt pan out, who is your between the tackles runner? I think Mafah wins out
I don't think it's even close, I know people are trying to put Mafah on the practice squad, but you mean sometimes we have lost players and I know it's no big deal now but remember that big defensive tackle we exposed he got snatched up quick, what was the other guy was he safety linebacker hybrid was it Isaiah land or something, Maybe it was somebody else but people were upset he got taken.....

Sometimes when you think you're smart as a coaching staff and you think oh this guy will stay on the practice squad then we can make a decision, It can blow up....

IN My opinion, Mafah, he is exactly what they want They want, physicality, this guy falls forward, he's strong, he's big ,he may not have any dynamic abilities, but he can move sideways enough you know change directions but for regular run downs and short yardage and goal line..

you need to develop this guy...

I mean how do we know that Williams isn't just going to poop the bed? I mean he's being handed the RB1 role but we haven't seen him play, how do we know that Mafah's not better than him..? In real games behind the real line, I would like to see Williams, Mafah and Blue get most of the rotational carries.
They'll know about six games in or more which one should get more, and which one should get less... I would put Malik Davis on the practice squad, I like him better than Sanders, They do a lot of the same things, but I'll take the younger guy with less mileage and that's not banged up..

I know people are going to look at Deuce Vaughn and see that he's done good things but he's done this a lot in preseason and I like him I just don't think he fits this team because we already have players like him that can do it better in Turpin and Blue so he'll get picked up by another team You should cut him as a positive thing for his career he needs to go to a team that can utilize him on special teams full time in both return games and then use him as a gadget player on offense...

IMHO

That will be interesting on what tight ends they keep I know Schoonmaker is has a concussion but he seems to be in their minds part of the rotation because he was starting with the ones first frisco training camp practices before he got dinged.... Yes, fairweather flashed over and over but I don't know how he fits the coach's mind...

Also great deepest wide receiver room we've had in a long time it's going to be some tough cuts....

I know most people won't say it but we kind of knew when Matt Eberflus was hired He is a linebacker whisperer and sometimes things are said and maybe you only take it with a grain of salt but he knows how to get the best out of the linebackers and it's already showing.. That group is solid I have no worries about that group and that's crazy 'cause we've hardly seen Sanborn or Murray and Overshown will be back imagine the depth we have now....

The corners yeah those are going to be tough that room is still unsettled, Uh who's we don't know who's coming back and when there's so many injuries...

But the safety room also looks deep pass rushers I like Houston I don't see how they cut that guy I mean he's flashed all camp now since they brought him in and they brought him in late in camp and now he's a standout...

I think the defense the weaknesses are obviously what we've always thought they were who's playing those tackle consistently that might be Toia with a rotation and the corners but at least we know they're coming back...

It would be a monumental mistake man i'm sorry you might be right on what they see and what I see but when this team says we're looking for physicality we're looking for effort we're looking for consistency that's all Mafa's done all training camp in preseason he's earned a 53 man roster spot..

I want Phil , Blue, and Williams and Williams is the one I don't even know anything about.. But those are the three guys I'm giving healthy snaps to in the run game and then around Week 6 I'm going to figure out who are the best and then you run with them...

And I'm putting Malik Davis on the practice squad I like him better than Sanders and Vaughn he should be cut for his own sake because I think he'll do well to be on a team that needs a special team ace and the gadget player we already have those guys...

Agreed. I follow Clemson and Florida pretty closely so was happy we drafted him and James.

I think he’s shown enough to make the 53. I just think a guy like Sanders can be found anytime of the year where as Mafah shows potential
Agree with you. Mafah is young and fresh and cheap, whereas Sanders is...Sanders. He's on the downside of his career and isn't going to suddenly develop into something more. I feel the same about Williams, but the team loves him for some reason. I'd like to see Mafah make the team.

I'm expecting them to cut the long snapper a vet on a min deal to allow for guys to make the short term IR.

Grier gone too to PS.
RB and TE will be interesting to watch.
To be honest it's all interesting to watch,

because there's gonna be some crazy twists and bumps and changes along the way, but if you've watched the way they've utilized Cooper Rush in the past which it was the old coaching staff ,and the way to utilize Grier, this year that points to him being the number two guy.
.
All that work they gave to Milton is because he literally needed it and they know what they had in Grier,

I don't know how they're going to work the emergency 3rd who's going to be on the practice squad or if they bring all three onto the roster... And I gotta say this I think Greer is more ready to be the number two I think he's at a point right now where Cooper Rush was about the same time when he became our backup constantly being cut put on the practice squad brought back went to the Giants came back and he settled in and became a good backup.... I know they're not going to expose Milton on the practice squad but I don't want to lose Greer either.. Forget how the protections work for certain veterans but I see a scenario this year if Milton is the number two and Greer is the emergency 3rd If Prescott goes down and it's for more than a couple of games you're going to see Grier elevated to starter the very next game, and Milton being brought in as the number two...

So again it will all be interesting I don't think anything that's being said in here is set in stone I think people might be shocked surprised floored upset there's gonna be a lot of emotions the next 3 days....

This..........It's why I said in another thread, I hate his body language. It wasn't just the one clip in the other thread. There were others, like now, It is just bad form......at least try and be a professional.

Yeah, total clown move.

Save this for a meme later. I promise we'll see this photo again..

Not gonna lie, Parsons is kind of a clown.

There are some real spares at DL and RB. If I were in charge I wouldn’t keep guys on the 53 just because they’ve been here as late round picks or recent FA acquisitions. Some of these guys just can’t play.

Cut Deuce Vaughn, Miles Sanders, Mazi Smith, Tommy Akingbesote, Tyrus Wheat, Denzel Daxon, are some of the guys whose time is up IMO.

The Cowboys sat 35 players last night? Is that correct? That means of all the players on the field against Atlanta only 18 will make the roster. Of those 18, the kicker and punter are two spots. Milton is another, and probably Grier too. I think it will be a tough cut down. Not because they have so many good players, but because so many are about equal in ability.

I feel like the RBs and WRs will be the toughest cuts. It looks like Williams and Luepke are making the team. I am not sure I would keep Sanders. But Malik Davis has impressed me. Blue is also impressive, if he can stay healthy. Mafah looks like he could be a beast.
I don't see the point in keeping Sanders.

I'd roll with Davis, Blue, Mafah, and Williams. But you don't need that many backs. Unless my boy Blue counts as a receiver.
