I just read this article in this newsfeed http://cowboyszone.com/threads/btb-...07-patriots-and-2013-broncos-offenses.363738/ and I was surprised by the analysis.

The 2016 offense is creating history of consecutive 400 yard games. If we get 400 tomorrow we will have 9 games in a row for the first time in NFL history. Let that sink in! The other two times were Super Bowl teams lead by Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. This is rare air folks!

Meaningless unless we hoist the Lombardi.

Nice stats ... that's it.

That's a tough line to take but to each his own. I enjoy the ride! It has been a LONG time since we have had a dominate offense like this. Like when Aikman and Smith were in the backfield. I would love the Lombardi like the other two teams in history who have accomplished this but I'm going to enjoy the next 10 or so weeks just the same :)

Another one of those fun streak stats that is pretty much as meaningless as can be, especially if it makes people think this offense is in the class of those two (it's not).

Interesting aside: Denver went over 400 yards 14 out of the 16 games in 2013. Both times they came up short were against the Chargers. They would have had 13 games in a row over 400 to start the season, but in Week 8 they had 397 yards in a game they likely shut the offense down in after leading 28-6 in the second half. I'm sure if they even knew such a record existed, and cared, they could have found 3 yards while running out the clock.

Denver had a whopping 6 500 yard games. The Cowboys have none.

Unfortunately, neither of the other two teams ('07 Patriots and '13 Broncos) won the Lombardy in those seasons; so I hope we can just make our own history with 9+ in a row.

Also, I personally feel our offense is much more balanced than the other two (at least on the surface level analysis) since they were lead by nigh unstoppable passing attacks, whereas ours is predicated on the ground game with Dak, Dez and Co. being able to exploit matchups that Zeke helps create.

I think we will stack up well against playoff caliber/Winter defenses.

That is not the point. That is a given for having any stat for any team or any player. That is like saying, why watch the games unless you are playing in the SB...all other games don't matter...

Streaks are always fun stats that don't mean much. We're averaging over 400 yards per game and we're very consistent: those are the takeaways. But if we only had 398 yards against the Bengals instead of 402, would that say anything about the quality of our offense? Of course not.

If you relax the criterion to 397 yards, the Broncos streak becomes 12. If you relax it to 394, the 2000 Rams have 11. If you increase it to 403, the Broncos still have 8 and we're only at 5.
