As a loyal DC fan I always believe we are going to the playoffs. What do you guys think?

We definitely are good enough. We have to compete with two other teams just in our own division though that are also playoff teams.

Lets go with " A rebuilding year team" which can surprise occasionally! Too high expectations has not done any good to us !

I think we have a legit chance. Clearly there are question marks to over come but there have been many teams with question marks pretty much every year who step up and do the job.

I would say our chances are better than many and not as good as others. :D

The competition will be tough. I think the Eagles win the division. That leaves 2 wild card spots. I think both the Saints and Falcons make the playoffs, so that leaves one spot.

Assuming the Packers win the North, the fight will be on between the Cowboys, Giants, Bucs, Bears, Lions. I don't think a team in the West is Wild Card material.

At best, I would say that the Cowboys are in the mix.

This is the most difficult year to judge that I can remember. Talent-wise, I think the team's better than many want to credit. I like the coaching and preparation changes we've made. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll be in the wildcard hunt, but it could go either way for us depending what sort of pressure the changed to the defensive fronts can generate.

All this presupposes we fill our open S spots, which, obviously, I think we're going to be able to do.

Who knows until they start playing and get all the players in camp?

I'm a homer so I say yes! :p:

One of the writers for the Dallas Mavs said that he was surprised at Rob Ryan's comments because the 'Boys are inferior to the Eagles. I had to ask him how he would know that when they haven't even played yet?

let me start off by saying that MOST of the Austin media are NOT cowboys fans, but the consensus around here seems to be that Dallas will at least snag a wildcard spot (think Philly might have a slight edge, but are not "eating the cheese" so to speak, on Superbowl favorites like the national media)

In fairness, this will be another judgment year for Garrett. I'm referring to Jason Garrett, not Mrs. Garrett of girls school fame:) . The problem is that there are so many moving parts to this team that it is honestly hard to gauge progress on a team level (other than the obvious number of wins). Each year a coaching carousel, players come and go, etc., etc.

This team was 11-5 year before last. Most all the same parts are in place and the faulty ones have been replaced. I don't see any reason why this team can't be a contender.

From what I have heard here we probably will not win more than two games.

You have 4 Division Winners and 2 Wild Card TEams:

NFC East: Eagles
NFC West: Seahawks
NFC North: Packers
NFC South: Falcons

Possible WC Teams:
Saints
Bucs
Bears
Giants

Dont see the cowboys any better than a wild card ... and they have to get lucky to get in as a wildcard.

Personally i dont see them making 8-8 let alone making the playoffs. But who knows ... thats why they play the games. Maybe Romo goes off for 5000 yards and 50+ TDs. Maybe Ryan is the second coming and turns this rag tag Defense into todays version of His Daddy's 4-6 bears Defense. It will be fun watchin tho :)

As others have said, I think we could easily be in the mix for a WC spot. However, I hate our lack of depth and things could really go south with just a couple key injuries.

Way to go out on a limb and pick the exact same division winners as last year.

Edit; nvm bears one last year haha

8-8 or 9-7 or 10-6... With 10-6 MIGHT being enough to make the playoffs.

True. It is hard to say, even with the depth because it is unknown. We have several young guys who we just don't know how far along they have come if at all. I agree much of the depth is a big question mark
