Seriously? A highlight film? I'll tell you what. Read my comments on Williams and then watch the very first play on the clip you just posted. It's all I watched and I'm not watching 24 minutes. Again, watch the first play and tell me Williams consistently holds the edge. That is exactly what our problem is. He crashes down too hard and opens up the entire side of the field
That OL is an OT playing TE. SW plays the C-gap (outside the LT).

That was intended to be a run to the inside of the OL that is blocking SW but SW forces the RB to go outside. Notice the run was not successful...

Cowboys don't need another DE. They need a gap-plugging interior DT.
They plan to play Takk at Strong Safety.

He did it on some snaps in Atlanta.

His forty time is faster than SS/LB Kearse.

Kearse is about 220. Takk is 260.

Takk at strong Safety? That's interesting

Rams had him for a while and cut him loose and they are hard up for pass rush. Doubt this amounts to much.

I don't think he is here for the pass rush. I think he is here to see if he can contain the edge on running downs. I just hope he doesn't take snaps away from Sam Williams.

I think many on here wanted to sign him as a FA. Some wanted to draft him as well.

Yeh, McKinley has not pan out, and i got the FA guy i really wanted and excited to sign in Dante Fowler, who is flat a better player than Takk, imo.

Though I never heard about Takk's ranked status on the Cowboys draft board value in 2017, (only heard Watt and CB Kevin King in consideration at Cowboys 1st rd spot)
when we unfortunately drafted Taco Charleton, i really assumed that
we would drafted Takk.. if ATL did not manuever up to draft ahead of us to take McKinley.

What further did not help matters that is McKinley torn up his ACL and that's another setback.
i think the DEs are a crowded number now, and i don't see how Takk can help us at this point of the season.
Unless the coaches are really that down on the run defense performance of the DEs to lean on a street guy to remedy it.

Williams is playing lights out as a pass rusher, even as a rookie, hasn't he had a sack in the last 3 games ?
Let Takk take Basham's or Armstrong's reps if they think that much about journeyman Takk- but not Williams.

i may be getting too overly excited and out of the lanes. But i feel Sam I am is headed on his way to be every bit as impactful and explosive player
than Gregory. He has the potential to be another version of Khali Mack.
Can beat you with either speed or power. And hasn't even been in a full time strength program yet.

Are you insane? You can't take Dorance Armstrong off the field.

- Yes you can if Armstrong as a starter is one of the bigger weakness problems vs the run ... if his run defense is that bad on the edges, then it's time to
see him more in pass rush packages than as a full time starter.

- These teams too many times, too many games are " easily" and consistently getting the edges/corners on us - we have to find a better solution and remedy to this.

- The aim is to the find the most complete guy that can give us Both rush while making the grade vs the run.

- i doubt Takk is seen as a starter - especially a guy that has been somewhat of a journeyman from three different teams in 3 years.
. But from the group of Williams, Fowler, Armstrong and Basham, we are severely gonna have to
find the right guy,..and even the best rotaton guys that relieves the starter - to best solidify these soft vs run edges. at RDE.

So you want to take Dorance Armstrong off the field to make us better?

You don't see the error in your logic?

If as a starter if he is one of the leading reason why we continue to struggle vs run on the edges... how is that an error ?

If off the field means a rotation gig rather than full time starter, for us to improve. then yes, we have to make key adjustments.

Question is: what player that we currently have now on the roster that would suffice replacing Armstrong as a better run defender ?
