I hear this every few years about Philthy ........ yet they have been to the Superbowl 3 times in the last two decades, 2 times in the last 6 years....... while Jerry inc has been making money off Superbowls from almost 30 years ago.
Oh they’ll retool and be back in the Super Bowl in 3-4 years

I'm confused as well, too many numbers just get to the
I think this puts Dallas about $5 million over the CAP prior to the tag of Pollard. About $15 million over with Pollard.
I think 18 but they wouldn’t have tagged pollard if they didn’t have a plan in place. Some restructures and an extension is what I’d expect

Why are worried about the cap? Saints are $30 million over the cap and yet signed Carr to a $150 million contract. Dallas with get under the cap as much as they want. Pollard was a must.

Oh they have shown they will bounce back but they will take a hit for sure this year. Mind you they haven’t even signed Hurts yet. They’ve really been lucky.

Dallas adjusted cap is 230,338,863
Dallas top 51 contracts 249,113,393

$18,774,557 over the cap
They can knock about $25 million off the cap with a Dak extension.

So, they can go from about $19 over to about $6 under.

Zeke paycut or release can free up another $10

Restructure Zach Martin's contract and free up another $10

Dont be fooled guys, they can easily get under the cap and add a top tier free agent as well, all this "cap hell" talk is just cover for the front office to once again do nothing.

It's always possible to kick CAP HELL scenario's down the line.... it's not terminal, HOWEVER, it results in decisions like trading Coop and not able to sign top FA's as we can't compete with other teams that are blessed with CAP Space.
The actual CAP HELL was last season ....as it was followed by 2023 (another year where our CAP space was limited).
2024 is fairly decent by way of space, the decision for the FO is .....do they want to spend the money on improving areas (namely WR) when that may not be the problem.

Again, the only way they can get $10 million in cap savings with Elliott via cut is a June 1 cut. And by rules, they still have to carry his cap charge until June 1. In essence, they can't use that $10.9 million in cap savings until June 1 (to sign players, stay under cap, etc.)

I thought the tag didn't count against the cap...?
Yes, the tag definitely counts against the CAP. The tag is basically a 1 year salary for the player. It counts against the cap immediately and becomes guaranteed once the player signs the contract. Belwo are the rules regarding the cap:

Franchise or Transition Tag – any player who receives the Franchise or Transition Tag (other than the Exclusive Franchise Tag) is still technically a Free Agent, but is restricted by the Tag. A player under the Tag does count against the Salary Cap, at the amount of the Franchise or Transition Tag tender amount.

People around here act like we are the only team with these "problems." At the end of the day to win you just have to do better than your opponents and not be perfect. Now striving for an ideal can be a productive method but going chicken little when your ideal is not met is what makes perfectionists dysfunctional.

Uh yeah, they kept prorating players base into bonuses for future seasons. They’re pretty much out of players do do so and the ones they did in the past count around 60m hit of this year’s cap and they’re all FAs!
