This is actually amazing considering our lack of success for, nearly two decades. To think every new fan in the last 30 years have little to no memory of the success of the 9k ' yet we still are the most popular sports team in the US.

And people wonder why Jerry is always smiling. ;)

Never really moved the needle for me, one way or another. So whenever the generic Saint or Packer fan attempts to poke, "That's right, WE are really America's Team." The indifference from my end is readily apparent. *blank stare*

Football matters are of greater importance, at least from my perspective. Unfortunately, those same fans' jabs do cut a bit deeper when it comes to events on the field.

lol i can't even imagine how much more popular and more financially successful the Cowboys would be if they were actually good. Seriously, they need to start letting the refs be completely on our side and help us win games it would be good business for the NFL to see a successful Cowboys team tbh.

Lol i find it funny espn tabbed the headline Miami overtakes Lakers in top NBA team.

If the nickname was based on recent success, I would say the Cowboys are America's Team like Little John was little. But the truth of the matter is, beyond being a nickname, I think it's because the Cowboys fans are like Visa - they are everywhere you want to be - in every major city and internationally abroad, Cowboy fans can be found. The star is one of the most recognized symbols in the world. Granted, it may not be deserved, but it is what it is.

This should end any discussion ever started about the Cowboys having "a bunch of bandwagon fans"

Think dispassionately for a moment.

A number of products, including the Cowboys have enough good will they have licence to be mediocre longer than the rest of us before they face the Day of Reckoning. It caught up to GM, it's catching up to Microsoft. Had Parcells not come, the fan base would have already caved in.

Every team has their share of bandwagon fans and that will never change, but as i've said before the Cowboys haven't won since 2pac was killed and they still sell the most merch and get the highest ratings. The game across the pond this season will be ridiculous because people will see just how global the Cowboys really are.

That really speaks to just how well Jerry sells his product.
