Cowboys and Murray Agent Break the Ice

The Dallas Cowboys and the agent for DeMarco Murray have at least spoken after going a few weeks without communication, a source told ESPN.
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones and Bill Johnson, Murray's agent, spoke Monday night, according to a source.

Tim Heitman/USA TODAY SportsDeMarco Murray's agent spoke with the Cowboys on Monday, although it is unclear how far the talks progressed toward a new contract for the star running back.


However, it's not clear how involved the discussions got in terms of a contract. Jones told ESPN last week that the Cowboys would make a "respectable" offer to Murray before free agency begins Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys also met with Johnson at the NFL scouting combine in February.
