Love 'em or hate 'em, the Dallas Cowboys remain the most polarizing team for NFL fans.

In a new survey released by Public Policy Polling, the Cowboys were easily chosen as America's least-favorite NFL team. Dallas also finished second in voting for America's favorite NFL team, trailing only the Denver Broncos.

In voting for least-favorite team, the Cowboys received a whopping 23%, outdistancing the Chicago Bears (13%), the New England Patriots (9%), the Broncos (8%), the Pittsburgh Steelers (6%) and the New York Giants (5%).

Denver led the voting for favorite team with 14%, and Dallas followed at 12%. Next up were the Green Bay Packers (11%), Chicago (10%), New England (8%), Pittsburgh (8%), the Giants (5%), the New Orleans Saints (4%) and the San Francisco 49ers (4%).

Public Policy Polling concluded that the voting for favorite team is tied to current form. The Broncos enter the postseason with the top seed in the AFC, while the last time the poll was conducted, two years ago, the Packers came out on top at a time when they were undefeated.

Love them or hate them, everybody has an opinion about the Cowboys and that is why they have been, are, and will always be "America's Team" (I personally hate that damn label because it is just another bulls-eye on the Cowboys)...Denver is just a passing fad, one key loss and they will fade back into the pack...Dallas, however, stays at the top no matter what...it is hilarious how this question keeps appearing in the media...if Dallas is so bad, why are ESPN, FOX, and other sports outlets so damn concerned?

This is like when Romo is listed as one of the most hated athletes. It's completely pointless and it's really just based on hate and envy. Why are we so hated if we aren't even winning anything? It's the overall success and history of our team. Because Browns fans hate that they have to live in Cleveland and root for that team. Because Minnesota is Minnesota.
It's like family, I can tell you how dysfunctional my relatives are, but I don't wanna hear anything about my family come out of your mouth. I'm talking to YOU America!

Yes because 745 people are america and all fans of other teams would agree that Dallas is America's team.. Such a waste of time poll. And then they don't even ask about Romo's popularity after throwing the America's team question.

It comes down to two things:

1) People are Peyton Manning fans, not Broncos fans and once Peyton retires or leaves Denver, most of those fans will move on as well.

2) The Cowboys are the one team in the NFL that most fans who like other teams hate the most, mainly out of jealousy at the attention the Cowboys always get.

The one thing the media and the fans of other teams never get is that their hatred and negative exposure is what keeps the Cowboys "America's Team". They perpetuate, recycle and regurgitate the moniker over and over until even the fans who hate the Cowboys the most automatically associate "America's Team" with the Cowboys. Even when they try so hard to dispute it or claim their favorite team deserves it more because they are winning and a lot of bandwagon fans like their team at this moment, all they do is remind everyone that the Dallas Cowboys have that name.

If the media and fans of other teams would stop talking about it for a few years, it would probably go away. We as Cowboys fans refer to our team as the Cowboys or Dallas Cowboys. The only time I see a Cowboys fan call the Cowboys "America's Team" is when addressing the title after the media or other fans mention it.

We've always been the most hated, in fact I bet we're less hated in the last ten years as we're on the verge of becoming insignificant. Yea Jerry.

Denver is the flavor of the month as will be Seattle if they win SB. Dallas thanks to TeX and now Jerry...good or bad....will always be relevant. We are the longest running soap opera ever

I hate when articles discuss surveys but don't disclose sample size.

I do not think you need a massive sample to demonstrate what is said here. Dallas may not be everyone's favorite team, but they are unquestionably relevant, which I am sure delights Jerry Jones to no end.

The Lakers, Notre Dame football and the Yankees are exactly the same way.

People love to hate them and others hate to love them. No lukeworms as far as they're concerned.

Good. I love the "hate" from jealous fans of historically-inferior teams.

I don't mind people having strong opinions about us, or even hating us, but these "historically-inferior teams" have every right to laugh their ***** off at us, and that makes my blood boil.

Right on the money! People love us or hate us, but nobody who is a football fan is ambivalent towards the Cowboys! That's worse than hate!!!!!;)

We're 8-8. There's nothing to laugh about and there's nothing to cry about. Like Michael Jackson said we're "stuck in the middle and the pain is thunder" (Wanna be startin' somethin').

Yeah, I'm going to call bull bleep on that. There is no way the Denver Broncos are the most popular team in the country.

It's Peyton Manning. Plus depending on when they did the poll they were rolling for awhile.
