Cowboys are built to succeed against Jordan Davis

I wonder which offensive lines are more prepared from a strength standpoint against Jordan Davis. Davis looked dominating against the Jets, and the Eagles seem to be one of the strongest 1-2 punches in the NFL with Nakobe Dean and Davis both attacking the pocket, defending the run.

Although Biadaisz isn't particularly dominating, he is flanked by Zach Martin and Tyler Smith, which is a huge advantage. A double team that includes either of those guards is going to stop, or at least significantly erase the impact Davis will have against most teams.

I say this, because moving Tyler Smith to Left Tackle in the absence of Tyron Smith, or a quality swing tackle will remove that advantage. Tyler Smith must be the LG when the Cowboys play the Eagles.

Agree?

It remains to be seen if Davis can be a 3 down player. He hasn't been so far in his career. If he can be a pash rusher he'll be a home run, but if he is a run blocker only his draft spot maybe questioned

Definitely need to tap the breaks on Davis "dominating" vs the Jets. It was far from that.

And now Dean and he are one of the strongest 1-2 punches in the NFL? Wut?

Nice post. I remember a younger prime Snacks Harrison taking on TFred and Martin at the point of attack at the same time and achieving a stonewall or even a push.

Hopefully this kid isn't as dominant. Biasdasz could prove to be a pretty bad weak link in that case.

They needed a quality swing tackle with Tyrone's injury history and failed to secure one.
Hope dak can run for his life.

Davis is the missing piece in the trenches. The icing on the cake, a healthy Nakobe Dean serves as the athletic & high IQ figure that the Egals unit lacked for years.

If they're defense falls short of expectations, blame the safety spot that was never really fixed.

I couldn’t agree more . A mauler brawler inside who won’t get knocked back off his feet like 52 was knocked back clutching and holding . When Smith was drafted it was my hope he would work closely with Zack Martin learn the position from an all pro and really be an asset . Early in the Bronco game he had his man laid out on his back . Welcome to the NFL .

TB is a weak link on this line. I don’t expect this season to be much different than year’s past. He’s just not very good. I guess we cross our fingers and hope for the best.

I really expected Farniok to supplant him as the starting center by now. Might take an injury to TB for him to get enough playing time for the team to give him the shot.

He will be a destructive force for sure in the middle. But he is a big guy and as issues with being out of shape and being tired so easily. He feasted on the little olinemen in college. Im not sure he would be able to last that long in an entire season.

I hope his conditioning never quite materializes. Here's to the idea that you're right!

It's more that they are new to the NFL, and an unknown quantity. They certainly have the potential to be. Dak and Zeke were a formidable 1-2 punch in year one!

NOt sure about that one. They have much more than Davis. The have cox, Hargrave (even better than Davis), Milton Williams (Who I wanted last year), and some quality pass rushing DE's.

  • They could have the best DL in all the NFL.

Steele and TB are the two weak links. This is the year Biadasz would take the next step if he is going to take it. If not, then we need to go find ourselves a stud Center in the draft.

Steele I think is what he is.

I was disappointed when they picked up Milton Williams, too.

Eagles DTs have youth, size, strength and veteran Fletcher Cox. This Arlington Jonesboys OL ain't gonna dominate them.

I had Jordan Davis as an impact rookie and wanted the Cowboys to draft him. We need a DT more than a LG with that 1st round pick.

The way the Cowboys look versus the Broncos with penalties, getting beat deep, getting beat in the redzone on defense, and inept offense, things are going to have to improve dramatically and quickly. They also did not look good in joint practices.

Hope the remaining preseason games bring hope.

Few teams are scared of this dallas offense. Poor coaching might nullify the talent dallas has left on offense. Last years blue print to beat the dallas offense still applies until proven otherwise.
