Of course they are training him to rush the passer. That was one of the biggest reasons they drafted him.
That's like saying they drafted Zeke to run the ball.

Its how Parsons succeeded in College. Its the same way Jaylon succeeded. So no big surprise.

But definitely a breath of fresh air hearing that the coaching staff has finally put it together that if you play to players strengths it may turn into positive results.

Here's hoping anyway.

Saying the Cowboys are experimenting with Parsons pass rushing is like saying they are experimenting with Zeke running the ball. It's one of the things he does.

It seems like pass rushing was one of the few areas that Jaylon excels in.
He did at ND, that and coverage was what got him so high on the draft board. It was not unusual to see him covering a WR 20-25 yards down the field.

J. Smith was supposed to be what Parsons is supposed to be. Some of these really good college LB's just don't make the grade, just like all of the other positions.

Yep.. big fast guy with great athleticism and agility can probably get to the QB.. Who knew? Parsons is probably much quicker and more agile than Jaylon or LVE. His ability to evade the blitz pickup guy is going to be superior to those guys from day one. However I think people need to pump the brakes on his having like 15 sacks or some such. Send him into battle against guys who outweigh him by 75-100 pounds too often and you're likely to get him hurt or at the very least have him take a beating that slows him down in the execution of his other responsibilities. Blitzing him needs to be the dessert.. not the main course..
yup way High expectations, tap those brakes....

hes LB will be mostly in a traditionally LB spot so having 5-7 sacks would be great especially as rookie that is about as high as id go but 394 plus 100+ tackles and some TFL stuff would be all great..guy will have to develop...what type of rookie season stats did some of his comp have last year..whos that kid from AZ who was supposed t be the next coming of LT as rookie last year what was his stat line?

Smort! He can do everything well so utilize him. I think JG would’ve had him drop into coverage so this is a nice change

Micah is 1inch shorter, 4 lbs lighter, much faster (4.38 vs 4.6) and almost 2 years younger than DeMarcus Ware when he was drafted.
This ( rush lb) is absolutely the maximum value position to play him.

Rushing the passer?!?!? REALLY?!?! Innovative!! Is kicking and fielding punts next?
