It’s been an up-and-down year for second-year center Tyler Biadasz after a pretty solid rookie campaign. While Biadasz has done a really nice job with his run blocking, he’s had struggles as a pass blocker and has had a consistent issue with snaps to start the season. The issues have even caught the attention of Jerry Jones who was asked if the Cowboys have an issue with snapping at the center position on with Shan and RJ of 105.3 The Fan earlier in the week. Jerry responded with an abrupt “yes”, before detailing the difficulty in the job and responsibility for a young player.

The Cowboys have players in house with experience at the center position in Connor McGovern and Matt Farniok. And they have already toyed around with giving Connor Williams snaps at the position in training camp and in the preseason, but he showed similar struggles with shotgun snaps as well. But there’s no coincidence that the Cowboys showed the media in the open portion of Cowboys practice that they are currently exploring all options at the center position.

FRISCO, Texas – It's one of the most overlooked aspects of a football game, but it's one of the most crucial.

As forgettable as it might be most of the time, it becomes very noticeable, very quickly, when the center's snap is missing its mark.

"I know you've heard this — but the exchange is the one that's the most commonly taken for granted," said Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones on Tuesday. "It's really a serious part of how to win, how to be successful."

It's hard to find too many issues with a team's that's rolling into a Week 6 after four-straight wins, but it was easy to see that the Cowboys had some issues with their snaps against New York. The struggles between Tyler Biadasz and Dak Prescott were evident enough that Jones was asked about it in his weekly radio appearance, and he said it's something he's got his eye on.

"We've got to continue to be successful to make sure that exchange is as natural as Dak can make it and the center," Jones said.

Biadasz has faced criticism in the days since the game for a couple of errant snaps against the Giants, which Prescott had to reach to corral.

It’s surely an area of concern. If the QB has to focus on where the snap is going to be then that takes time away from surveying the defense. Biadasz needs to get his **** together and better be snapping the ball as we speak.

McGovern played center in college and he's been elite when asked to play this year, whether playing the full first game in Zack's spot, lining up as an extra lineman or even at fullback.
McGovern used a reverse grip on the ball in college. It equates to an underhand toss or granny shot in basketball. Spiral not possible. It's also an odd snap even for the QB under center.

I'm certain they switched him to a conventional grip. In my experience changing a golf swing is in some ways harder than than learning to play because you have to unlearn then learn the new swing.

I really don't see why there is so much smoke/noise about Center... I guess something is going on because too much noise from the doofy talking heads that are in the building. I think Biadasz has really had a good start to his career. He needs some work on pass-blocking but otherwise he is a great potential guy. Guess everyone just wants Frederick back.. Too bad, ain't happening.

Frankly i think the heavy criticism is getting to Tyler's mind.
As a former Dave Rimington award winner in college, i thought he should be more of a natural at snaps.
But maybe Wisconsin was more likely a QB under center exchange than shotgun .

Also Cowboys need to be prepared anyway since if he's injured, who is best option to immediate take over at center ?
