I know Bill Parcells says you are what your record says you are, and I know what fans will say given our current record, and hell, even I have had trouble convincing myself that this isn't the "same story, different year."

But I don't think the Cowboys are mediocre. Great? No. But I think they're a pretty good team, and I think 10-11 wins is very doable given our remaining record. And we've already shown we can play with anybody. This team is better than last year's, in my opinion. These next few weeks will give them an opportunity to show it.
I think the defense may really be starting to get it together, between the LBs and safeties figuring out the 4-3 and Kiffin's playing the CBs to their strengths. My fear is that we're so thin, particularly on the DL, that the defense will fade later in the year. On offense, we have to learn to beat the blitz and the 3-4 more consistently or it will continue to be a roller coaster. I still see a really broad range of possible futures for this team.

If we get to the playoffs i'll be happy i don't really see any teams we can't hang with if we play our best so if we just get inn anything can happen

I think Seattle can destroy us in two ways:

1. Defense shuts us down and forces Romo into mistakes.
2. I think Wilson lights us up

We very easily could have beaten Kansas City & Denver.. I'll take whatever you want to call us if we can keep stacking W's.

They are 3-0 in the division and two of their losses came from teams with a combined 13. Considering the amount of injuries they are dealing with, how you call that "mediocre" is beyond me. Sometimes people "have to keep it too real" on here. They are showing signs of gradual improvement in many areas. They own the East, enjoy it for five minutes.

Thus far we seem to be winning the games we are supposed to. We need to learn to win some games against stronger opponents, but I've said it before and I'll say it again now:

If you lose three games, the best way for that to happen is for it to be non-conference games early on. We've lost three against the AFC early in the season. Could be WAY worse.

Those are just guesses. i see us at 9-7 or better. Fortunately being middle of the road could be plenty to win the division. And once you get in the tournament... Well you guys know how the saying goes

I don't see us losing to the eagles at home unless it is a rest game. I'd also switch the bears and packers results. Commanders at FedEx could be a problem, and Giants in NY too (if only because at some point they should win a game).

We don't know if we are mediocore yet.

In a few weeks if we are 6-3 or 7-4, 8-4 that's not mediocore.

Have to wait and see.

we are not "owning" the east because we are deserving of it. We are owning the east, because the GIants have made bad personnel moves, The Eagles are trying something new and thankfully Shanahan made a huge mistake. Yet, alone, good situations and we are barely "meh" at best. Our best game (i notice the stat people dont bring this up) was against the hapless Rams, we missed a shot against Denver, and we got extremely lucky yesterday. And you are impressed. Wow.

Detroit is basically at bad as home as Philly. I think Detroit is a good team personally and I think stafford is excellent but going to Detroit isn't an issue, they just don't win there.

There was nothing lucky about yesterday. The Cowboys outplayed Philadelphia, despite their many mistakes (penalties and a turnover). Get rid of the penalties and we completely steamrolled them.

Yep I didn't see anything lucky either.

You could make the case kc was lucky to beat us but I know these types of fans only see things one way.

We have been competitive in every game, we have won the games where we outplayed the opponent and lost the games where we got outplayed. We are not NEARLY as mistake prone as we have been in the past and are playing good football. I did not lose a ton of sleep after any of our losses because frankly, I felt like we played good football and just got outplayed by the opponent. We were close in each of those games, and if we play them again am not certain we lose again.

We are 7 games into the season and I don't think anyone can reasonably say that we lost games on horrific mistakes (as we did the last two years) or were straight out terrible. Again, if you are going to lose, do it against non-conference teams and early while you can learn about yourself. Mitigate, and get hot.

You keep it real bro, and never enjoy a positive moment at any time. And explain exactly how lucky we got? Lucky? Wow.

come on, how many wide open recievers did Foles not even throw to, any qb who sees that many, making yards in a hurry, and Avant being NOT only open, but wide open. No, we got lucky that a real qb was not back there.

So we are lucky we weren't playing a better team? That isn't luck and I refuse to apologize for winning against the team we did play. The EAGLES are lucky we didn't thump them 24-3 or more since we were getting penalties(our fault) and no calls (*** Refs). This is the same Foles that looked all pro against us last year. We blanketed their receivers all game and shut down the best RB in the league. That isn't luck, it's dominance. On an OFF day.
