but do you realize that San Francisco has 8 picks in the first 4 rounds? 4 of those 8 picks come in the first 3 rounds and 4 picks in the 4th round. How in the world can SF and a few other teams (but not the Cowboys) able to get so many additional picks? Sometimes I sit here and play a "what if mock draft" and it's fun until reality sets in. Can you just imagine how many good players they will add--particularly considering where they draft. I'd be grateful if we could just pick up another 4th rounder/5th rounder and don't even hold out any hope of another pick on the first day. We'd be set if we could grab 4 picks on the first day. Oh well, maybe we could package 1 of our 6th (or even both) plus a 7th rounder and pick up another 4th rounder.

They found people to trade for some of their players that they no longer wanted. The skins gave them 2 picks for Brandon Lloyd, they got a pick for Peterson I think and there were a few more. They then got some comp picks for allowing players to leave and not replacing them in FA. So you have to ask yourself which you would prefer. Seeing guys like Witten, Crayton, Gurode, Williams, Jones be traded or let leave in FA and have some extra picks. Or re-sign those guys and keep the team together in hoped that they get it done. You can't have both. You can't get 8 picks in the top 4 rounds without trading or losing good players. To their credit, they had a great year even with those talent loses.
