Cowboys are playing today!

they were showing the 1992 NFCCG dal vs sf this morning, watched a lot of it..

odd if this place was active back then they would talk about the lack of Sbs from 1979 until 1994 and how slow and plodding Emmitt smith was showing no burst or big plays, how the Fg Kicker couldn't make a 25yard Fg nd how far too many drives stalled and Fgs attempted and JJ going for it on 4th and 1 instead of Fg to push the lead from 10-13 and it failed giving SF a chance to catch them late in the game to bring it to 4 while the defense got gashed for that score..MM would have got roasted and garett would have had to get armed guards....

when you go back to watch these old games and compare them to current narratives you see the same chit..

fans around here need to chill on a lot of those..i see the same game being played wit very similar narratives happening..

I watched it as well. Big things that stood out tome were the awful kicking and punting by both teams...has come a long way over the years...and just how athletic and active the DLs were. No fat, hold your ground DTs. Both teams had excellent OLs, but both struggled with all the quick penetration. I also noticed how awful the field was, which may have made Emmitt look slow. Guys feet were digging up chunks of turn like long golf divots, yet athletes were sliding with it and keeping balance, keeping their feet under them. If a championship game were played today on such a terrible field, you’d never hear the end of it.

That old candlestick field was notoriously bad back in the day. If I remember right it rained a ton leading up to that game and they brought in geroge toma to resod between the hash marks and make it playable. Anything outside of that was just mud and slop. Tons of footing issues. They came out with cleats too short for the conditions. Longer spikes slowed them down but got them better footing. Great game.

Emmit no burst? That is one dumb announcer. Emmit's burst was his primary strength. Dude exploded through the LOS.

Zeke has excellent burst. That's not his problem, though his burst isn't what it was due to being out of shape.

Zeke has good skills, not great. They are not good enough that he can rest on his laurels and play at 3/4 potential as Randy Moss did.

Bills for sure. I can get behind them. A blue collar town destroyed by the powers that be. They love their Bills and deserve the win. Let’s go Bills.

Zeke has no burst. That’s the issue. He is a pure power guy now.

Emmit Smith is like a holy figure to me, and Elliott is one of my most hated players ever for any team.

That said, Elliott has more overall talent and is a better athlete than Smith.

They both hijacked the owner to get paid early.

One is the all time leading rusher in league history, and the other will smoke his way on out of it.

The difference: heart and self pride.

One had all one could have, the other next to none.
