I have a feeling this will go down as one of the worst trades in Cowboys history. Is Micah really worse than two late first round picks and an old DT?

Well it tells me they got their input before making the final decision to pull the trigger. Pretty sure they wanted Schotty and Eberflus' assurance that they could replace Parsons' stats/impact. In other words, if we trade him, who/how replaces his pressures and sacks?

I don't know if it means that. It could mean they expect quality coaches to be able to scheme pressure.

Deal worked for all sides.

Jerry - Gets to be talked about non stop
Micah - Gets his $$ and can play for a Super Bowl
Micahs agent - He just negotiated a massive deal and will get paid
Dallas - Doesn't cripple the cap and can rebuild through the draft.

Teams started letting him come and dumping the ball off right over his head. And he gets worn down by end of season. Let’s hope it was a smart idea. The bolded part of your comments is questionable. Our current DEs had a total of 11 sacks among them last season in the NFL (10 for Fowler, 1 for Houston). Yes, there's reasons for that (Williams missed the season with injury, EZ was in college, Kneeland missed some time and was a rookie), but still this is a highly unproven group.

In no way did they win this trade. Unless they spend that money in free agency and actually hit on late first round picks. Which hasn’t been their forte.

2 firsts and a player for Micah just isn’t enough.

It is more than enough.
Because they avoided handing him 188 million over 4 years and being in a Dak-like bind.
They also got a starting DT for 14M a year over the next 3 seasons because GB ate that cap hit.

Parsons is great but he also has issues with his health as any Cowboys fan knows.

Dallas hasn't drafted well enough or been good enough to lock this roster down for 3 years by signing that Micah deal.
This gives them real draft capital and cap flexibility galore.
They just saved 18M THIS YEAR.

He’s a hell of a pass rusher but at end of day is just a hybrid player who gets worn down as the season progresses.

Yup. He's a monster but you had too many holes inside to be a great defense with Micah this year.
Now you get better inside and allow the kids on the edge to play and grow.
You don't need 1 of them to get 12 sacks but you do need 2 of them to get 6.

The Eagles just won a title by running through 9 DL per game and Dallas did the same in the 90s.
Depth at edge is really good in Dallas and now its time to show that with DLaw and Parsons no longer getting 85% of those snaps.

Maybe you step back 2 games but thats a good thing.
Give me growth amongst young and guys and better draft picks because this team was likely not better than middle of the road.

You are talking about 3 guys drafted in the top 60 of the last 4 drafts and a guy coming off double digit sacks.
Thats is a top 5 edge rush group.
They gotta stay healthy and prove it but so does Micah because each year tells its own story.

That's your projection. They haven't proven anything.

Before he was injured, Williams' best year was 4.5 sacks and he has been a rotational player at best.

Fowler, despite his big sack year, was let walk by his previous team despite the fact that he didn't get paid all that much.

Kneeland had no sacks as a rookie and wasn't known for it in college.

Houston hasn't done much in three years after a standout rookie season.

EZ was a sack artist in college, but college stars fail every year in the NFL.

Right now, for all we know, this is the worst group of DEs in the league. I expect them to turn out to be better than that, but productionwise, I'm not sure there's a team with worse numbers for its group.

Some of you are saying they should have gotten more back. You realize that his contract demands (salary cap hit) would give any team more leverage against Jerry on this one.

So it's not just Micah for a pretty good DT and 2 #1 picks, it's Micah and being relieved of that ridiculous CAP CRIPPLING contract for a pretty good DT and 2 #1: picks!

I don't think people can comprehend how many teams cannot sign micah parsons and he has to agree to sign with them also.

How many bad teams would micah agree to go to? And then you have to look at who and what your are getting back.
