That was total domination. The stats won't even show how badly the Eagles got beat down by the Cowboys tonight.
First of all, the Dallas O-Line was monstrous tonight. Madden gushed about them all night long, but it was certainly warranted. Flozell completely locked down Trent Cole. Gurode continues to maul in the middle, and Colombo was very gritty, including an endearing fight with Lajuan Ramsey after he did some dirty business to Julius Jones. Those guards played well too...Kyle Kosier: he's always the guy left out, and he needs to get his name mentioned too.
Anyone think TO loved sticking it to the Eagles. He was fantastic today. Just consider that Romo threw for 320 plus yards, and TO was the only receiver to catch a pass!
Tony Romo was worth every penny. You talk about a guy continuing to grow up; Romo took what was there and manufactured things when nothing was. He was very impressive to me, and continues to cement himself as one of the very best QBs in this league.
The running backs were good tonight too. Sensing a theme yet? Julius had 79 yards from scrimmage, and Barber had 106. Any team other than the Vikings would take that production from their backs.
I thought Deon Anderson looked better tonight than ever. Seems like he's growing up.
Tony Curtis made a spectacular leaping catch for a touchdown in the first half. Curtis knows how to make his plays count, doesn't he? He likes the highlight reel plays too.
I didn't think the D-Line was great early, but they seemed to get better and better for the most part. They did a nice job of pressuring McNabb while still trying to make sure that Westbrook didn't do too much damage.
Marcus Spears made a play. Will people back off any at all now?
Ratliff knocked a few passes down at the line. He just keeps plugging away, but I will be glad when he gets a little more rest.
Demarcus Ware wreaked havoc all night long. He was second on the team in tackles tonight, and I think he got another 1.5 sacks. Don't tell me that he's not one of the most feared defenders in this league.
Greg Ellis got another sack too. Man, I still don't like seeing Greg in space though. Still, having that pressure coming opposite Ware helps a ton.
Bradie James is having a great season. He did a great job when matched up against Westbrook and is a leader on this team. Can't complain about him this season at all.
Burnett showed up tonight at times. I thought he was pretty good in coverage and gave good chase.
Anthony Henry got another INT. Back to business as usual for him. Nice to see him back on the field.
Terence Newman has got to learn to hold on to his picks. If so, the pro bowls would come. Fair or not, that seems to be the way it is.
Jacques Reeves has sure grown up well. He's not perfect, but he's awfully good as a third corner.
Hamlin made another big play tonight. Roy won't get credit for being right behind him to pick the pass if Hamlin didn't jump it though. I thought the safeties were good tonight though.
Folk was perfect. McBriar was good. We finally have a change at kick returner too. Stanback got on the field, and he looked better than Thompson has, but I wonder how much of that was just my perception. I had been ready for that change. I did miss having a third runner when the game was over in the fourth quarter.
Speaking of, isn't it nice to have a classy way to end a game. We know who won that game, and the stats didn't matter a ton at that point. Dallas did their job and let the foot off the pedal at the end. Nothing wrong with that.
And the good guys win again. Feels good.
