Does this impact how we use our starters in pre-season?
No way it happens but I would the get the starting OLine a couple of series in the second preseason game.

Try to gain a small advantage….they are going to need all they can get to have a chance.

I think allowing the OL to gain some cohesiveness is worth the minimal injury risk.

It’s also a total joke that it’s now common practice that starters don’t play a single snap in preseason but that’s a different topic.

Looks like the league doesn't want KC opening the season with a loss.

Oh nice. A whooping to open up the year.

I'd much rather prefer playing them later in the year when all our pieces are kind of working together.

At least not a cold weather game , I think most rational fans will agreee that this one looks like a loss on paper

If the Eagles didn’t have Barkley, they never even would’ve made it to the playoffs. Yes the defense was good. But their offense was basically a one-man show.
They played in the Super Bowl in 2023, as well. How did they get there without Barkley?

I heard some sort of a clip where Jerry supposedly slipped and mentioned the Giants as the opponent.

Who was he talking to?

No, we have so many former first round pics. Signed to one year deal great coaching for the younger guys. I can’t wait to see what this team looks like.
Yeah, only thing these former first round busts need is to be coached up by Schotty!

This just shows what the league thinks of Dallas.

When they think we're good, they save these matchups for the end of the year.

This just means they think we'll be out of playoff contention by November, so they want to cash in on the Philly Dallas rivalry early before the late season nose dive hits us and diminishes the matchup.

Frankly, it's kind of smart. Insulting, and a bit depressing, but smart (by the nfl)

Wonder if they'll do Chiefs-Raiders, Bears-Packers, Browns-Ravens early as well???
Really? So league thought the same thing when the Cowboys opened with Tampa after winning the Superbowl. It’s more of a treat for the Eagles fans. They would love to raise the banner to put the Cowboys fan and owner nose in it. I love it. The Cowboys are still the draw and that is not changing anytime soon.

So the positives.
Get a cold weather game out of the way, and the anticipation of a late season game at Philly out of the way.
Everyone or most anyway has us losing game 1 no matter what or who we play. So they will not be disappointed if we lose this game. As they are with every loss they predict.
Get a road game out of the way also.
Dallas has the element of surprise. Philly really will not know what is coming at them. We have the element of surprise.

So the negatives.
Fans feel Philly will be more prepared than Dallas for this game, and rightfully so. As Dallas will be playing in their new offense for the1st time. As we know they will not get any real reps in PS games. A lot to get in sync. Philly will already have that.

Otherwise really no negatives. It will be a learning curve game, and a loss this early may mean nothing. However the naysayers will be thumping their chest otherwise with I told you so posts an threads.
A win, would be great, but the naysayers will say, well it is early in the season, they will still have a losing season.

Another positive for you is Fangio’s system is really hard. We were bad on defense for the first month of 2024 as everyone was learning the system for the first time.

And now we’ll have 2 new starting DE’s, a rookie OLB, potentially a rookie Longhorn FS, a new #2 CB and 2 new rotational Dlinemen. Bit of a defensive overhaul. Might not be pretty right away
