Tyrone Crawford got to the QB about 4 or 5 times that I saw on film against a very good RT in Michael Oher and I'm surprised not enough people have noticed that up to now.

He seems to have switched up his technique and instead of just running into the OT with both hands, was using one hand a lot to jarr him with power and then running his counters off of that. He's not the kind of speed rusher around the edge but he brings a lot of speed and power coming at the OT that I think this style can be very successful and I'm interested in seeing how he improves on it going forward. He's also a strong presence in the run game and the TFL that Mclain had was caused by him bull rushing Oher into Mccluster and allowing Mcclain to clean up.

Really good observation - if he truly is back and if he continues like he has he's only going to get better and he's going to multiple Pro Bowls. Could be one of the greatest finds in Cowboys history and could set the tone for the defense for a long time - he's only 25.

There's the old expression...parts is parts. But hey, some of these are starting to fit together.

I think Crawford did the same thing on the Sterling Moore TFL where he ran down McCluster from behind... at least if that was him playing SDE on that play, then he did.

Game thread discussed it briefly...Z corrected me when I assumed it was Selvie pushing the tackle in Locker's face. But you're correct, not much praise going that way. The film reviews have pointed out Selvie's weak run D on the ss (SF) but @xwalker attributed to his injured shoulder (may be an all year thing unfortunately) and why Crawford got the start on Sun. I really liked what Selvie offered as a pass rusher last year but if his shoulder limits him, it is time to allow Crawford to get comfortable. Maybe have Carter come off the wide edge on passing downs to offer some resemblance of a pass rush. Crawford was pushing Oher into Locker's face but that seemed to fade into the second half.

I know one thing, I'm about to quit Romo and make RoMc my new man. Did ya'll see the Dallas morning news articles this morning concerning the Defensive players thoughts on RoMcClain? I think it was Wilcox who said he knows the opponents plays before they run them. Drop the mike. It's a wrap for me. Smart does it for me every time:bow:

Sounds really good. Hopefully his injury is very minor or he just needs rest.
Would like to read that article.

Go to Dallas Morning News. Or maybe the mods can post them. It's one from Church and one from Wilcox. Fascinating.

Actually it was steady all game. He hit Locker's hands on one of those catches that Walker had over Wilcox. I was surprised the ball made it there because it was a similar play to the one that should have caused an int by Durant against San Fran.

You are likely right, I was eyeballing him in the first half and didn't focus as much on the DL in the second. Thanks for info! Looking like Crawford/Spencer (hopefully) going forward on the edge. A steady Ellis type would be great for the D (hopefully the sacks come later type thing) and move inside on passing downs.
