Mannings' "MNF" broadcast jumps 138%, averages 1.9 million
NEW YORK (AP) — The "Monday Night Football" presentation with Peyton and Eli Manning increased its viewership by 138% over last week's debut, becoming the most-watched alternate telecast in ESPN history.
ESPN and Nielsen reported that the Mannings' freewheeling telecast of the Green Bay Packers' 35-17 victory over the Detroit Lions on ESPN2 averaged 1.9 million viewers. The Week 1 overtime thriller between the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders averaged 800,000.
The previous high for an ESPN alternate presentation was 1.03 million for the January 2018 College Football Playoff championship game between Alabama and Georgia on ESPN2.
Monday night's game had an overall average of 13.81 million across ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes.
The Mannings are scheduled to do eight more Monday night games this season, including next week's contest between the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. The remaining seven have not been determined.
NFL viewership is up 14% over the first two weeks last year, according to the league and Nielsen. The 17.7 million average viewership is the highest since 2016.
The Dallas Cowboys' victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on CBS late Sunday afternoon averaged 24.29 million, making it the most-watched program on television for the week.
The NBC "Sunday Night Football" game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens averaged 20.8 million on TV and online.

Could the Administers please change the title to "Dak beats the Mannings"

I swear some people . o_O there's always an agenda

Eli's been fine. He still has that deer in the headlights look but he's pretty fun. Peyton is fine too and he's generally likeable but I've always had the feeling he's never respected Romo. He's said some not so flattering things about him over the years, and this feels like a 'one upping' of Romo's laid back, 'like watching the game with a bud' vibe.

But I could be completely wrong

Pat McAfee was the best part of last night. That dude is jacked on booger sugar hoping his Packers -11.5 pays out just screaming at the TV in between Peyton Manning stories all while Eli looks terrified he is about to drop f bombs every other word. Pretty entertaining. Eli is horrible tho...

Too bad being the richest franchise or having the biggest fanbase doesn't equal Super Bowl wins. Having smart ownership does.

Pat Mcafee should be a regular there. He has an edge over other former players due to his daily running a live show.

I thought Eli was better this week. He's never going to be great. His natural demeanor & facial expressions just don't lend itself to being an entertainer.

Side question. I have enjoyed their show .... but I can see it getting stale rather quickly.

I have some thoughts of things that might keep it fresh. Thoughts?

1) Have alternating hosts so it's not the Mannings every week. Get other insiders thoughts so you don't hear the same thing every week.
2) Have regular joe guests. How cool would it be to get a segment on national tv to hang with NFL players & discuss football?
3) Come up with some games. Maybe interactive games with the public where you try to guess play calls, will they score, vote on whether penalties were called correctly, etc. Maybe a rules segment where they have a rules expert join them & go over all the ins & outs of a particular situation. Fantasy football tie in.

Eli has the personality of driftwood.
I thought Eli was actually pretty funny. It's definitely a sneaky kind of funny, but I was laughing at his comments more than Peyton's and Peyton seemed like he was feeling the pressure to fill any silence and talk over Favre at every turn. Gronk and Mcafee were def the headliners though.
