Kupp’s numbers fell off of a cliff.Yeah him and Deebo….im incredibly shocked at the production they’ve had over the years. They have the reputation of number ones and they were but their stats are underwhelming….
And?He scored 6tds in 12 games.
Is that washed? Could he have a better year in 2025? Is it possible? What if the Rams were willing to pay part of his contract? And?
Depends on how you look at it. I think there's two sides to that.Adding a Cooper Kupp is not a bad thing and signing Osa isn't a bad thing.
I don't think so. Cooks is not as good as Kupp and has shown that he definitely should be reduced to a No. 3 at this point in his career. Kupp, despite missing four games, put up solid No. 2 numbers. Now, the risk is that he could slip to No. 3 territory quickly like Cooks did.And they’d be better off just resigning Cooks. Same production without the 12m cap hit for someone who hasn’t eclipsed 1k yards in over 3 seasons now!
But hey, when he fails and he inevitably will… we’ll have the pleasure of reading about how stupid Jerry is in 100 threads from the same people who advocated for the trade!
You act like this is a done deal and not a rumor. There are always a ton of rumors this time of year.Well it’ll give Jerry a nice headline.
Most of the casual Cowboys fans he relies on remember Kupp from fantasy football I’m sure.
I don’t really see the on the field need after the Mingo trade however. Another Jerry steal. Didn’t need that pick for a RB or LB.
Watching the NFL playoffs, you don’t even have to know what you’re looking at to see that dominant DL play is what wins.
Jerry keeps collecting his receivers and corners. Build from the outside in and outsmart the rest of the league and history!
67 catches 700+ yards, his 24 season was better than 23. He had that one insanely good year, sure it "fell off a cliff" if you are looking at that.Kupp’s numbers fell off of a cliff.
Puka Nakua was their top target and Kupp was a non-factor.
This move is more for a team that is close to winning. This move makes no sense for Dallas.I will be shocked if it happens. And I don’t think Cooper Kupp is what this team needs at WR. I respect the guy a lot but a declining skills receiver without speed is not what this team needs IMO.
If he take vet min? If not then it’s not happeningKeep in mind the connection he has with our new WR Coach.
On Kupp….how else is one supposed to speculate as to how a rumored situation may play out other than to place it into reality? Maybe take it up with the OP for posting it in the first place under the logic you’re offering. You act like this is a done deal and not a rumor. There are always a ton of rumors this time of year.
I am curious about the comment on collecting receivers & building from the outside in. Many people are upset every year that the Cowboys don't try enough to build from the outside. They are well known to rely heavily on their own draft picks and undrafted free agent signings. 3 of the Cowboy receivers in 2024 were guys they drafted, including the top to yardage gainers, and a 4th was a guy that has never played for another NFL team. The Cowboys are also the original NFL team for most of the DBs.
Ismael and Galloway are the last two I can think of in their prime. I think Glenn was when he came out and judging by his play didnt slow much. But he was a 10 year vet.I mean a actually good 4.3 guy. Not a Randall Williams type or a BRice Butler.
I’m not interested. NFL players don’t get better with age.Is that washed? Could he have a better year in 2025? Is it possible? What if the Rams were willing to pay part of his contract?
I was looking at last year. He really tailed off during the second half of 2024/25.67 catches 700+ yards, his 24 season was better than 23. He had that one insanely good year, sure it "fell off a cliff" if you are looking at that.
The way you deal with it is to acknowledge it as a rumor and indicate it would be a bad choice for reasons x, y and z, not treat it is a move that has occurred and condemn Jerry for making the move.On Kupp….how else is one supposed to speculate as to how a rumored situation may play out other than to place it into reality? Maybe take it up with the OP for posting it in the first place under the logic you’re offering.
As far as the rest….maybe we read different things, or interpret them differently, but I would claim that by and large around here, most are upset at the lack of effort (or success) in the trenches. They really don’t pull many punches when it comes to drafting corners early, and it kinda feels as if it could easily happen again at 12.
Meanwhile a strong DL and depth thereof is what often wins in the end. Notice the Cowboys are never around for that.
Corners are also devalued when you’re down by several scores and the opponent doesn’t have to pass because they are gashing you up the gut.
Don’t get me wrong….interceptions are great…but how many of them in Diggs/Blands big years were when they had a lead and the pass rush could tee off?
Hence the cliche….build from the inside out. I didn’t invent that one by any means.
