Cowboys being linked to WR Cooper Kupp

No way I would trade for his 31 year old self. After prime is what it is and the deterioration is not kind.

I don't think so. Cooks is not as good as Kupp and has shown that he definitely should be reduced to a No. 3 at this point in his career. Kupp, despite missing four games, put up solid No. 2 numbers. Now, the risk is that he could slip to No. 3 territory quickly like Cooks did.

Cooks had 26 catches for 259 games and 3 TDs last year in 10 games. His trademark speed has clearly diminished. Kupp had 67-710-6 in 12 games. There's value in that. But there is also risk.

I'm not necessarily in favor of the trade. I'd love for Dallas to be serious and go after a receiver on the upswing, but I don't expect that. What I expected is us to go after Stefon Diggs, but if we're trying to trade his brother, I don't see Stefon coming here. This trade may be the best option the front office gives us because it has at least shown that it is willing to do trades.

Again, I'm not saying it's the best move, but I'd rather see it do something than just maintaining the status quo.
Kupp has had a whopping total of 2 1k yard seasons for his entire career. Same number of seasons he’s played the entire season without missing games!
Cooks has had 6 or 7… and he’s the younger of the 2 and faster lying down than Kupp ever was!
How exactly is Kupp better!
Exactly where is value at 700 some odd yards at 12 million and a draft pick?
Reports coming out now the Ram’s may end up cutting him for lack of interest.
None of the other 30 teams want him but we should!
He had his moments but it’s past time for him to retire!

Ismael and Galloway are the last two I can think of in their prime. I think Glenn was when he came out and judging by his play didnt slow much. But he was a 10 year vet.

There have been reports Miles Austin ran a low 4.3 at his Pro Day, but his combine time was high 4.4's
yeah those are the guys I think of. It’s been awhile.

Kupp is also expensive. 27 mil over next 2 years is too much at his age and injury history. Players don’t tend to get more durable in their 30’s
Nugget suggests the Cowboys won't consider him unless ......he's released and willing to take half of the listed salary.

You are what you are now. Not what you were. Kupp has had over 700 yards receiving each of the last two seasons. He's had 127 receptions. Cooks has had 80 receptions for 916 yards. Both have totaled 11 TDs (Kupp in 24 games, Cooks in 26).

The numbers say Kupp is better, and I don't think that can be argued. He's played at a No. 2 level the past two years, which is what he would be here. The concern would be the injury issues and age, which could indicate he won't replicate those numbers.

Like I said, I'd prefer we'd go after a young No. 2 in free agency, but we're the type of team that trades for Mingo instead because he's cheap and we have him under contract for another season. Based on that, I'd take trading for Kupp and giving him a try.
